Problems with MS Word 97 and Samba 1.9.18p10
Hello all,
I'm still having some odd problems with my samba setup.
An NT 4.0 SP3 workstation running MS Word 97 SR-1, and a Solaris 2.6 machine
running Samba 1.9.18p10 yields this problem:
Any user creates a new document. They save and close that document,
everything works fine. They re-open the document, and make some changes.
They then click the close "X" on the title

MS Word 97 and Samba 1.9.18p10
Hello all,
We're having some odd issues with samba and MS Word (And presumable the
rest of the office suite, but I haven't checked) running on NT 4.0 sp3.
MS Word doesn't seem to obey the umask settings:
create mask = 0775
directory mask = 0775
When a new word document is created, it is given -rwxrw-r-instead of the
-rwxrwxr-x I'm expecting. I'm not sure whats happening

Joining an NT domain?
Howdy,
I've run into some problems adding a Unix server to an NT domain. I've
followed the instructions in DOMAIN_MEMBER.txt; when running the
smbpasswd command:
./bin/smbpasswd -j CS-NT -r CS-NTS1
I get the following errors:
modify_trust_password: machine CS-NTS1 rejected the session setup. Error
was : code 131.

Samba 2.0.6, MKS' touch.exe, and file/dir time stamps
Hello all,
we are experiencing problems with samba 2.0.6 and the MKS touch command.
during our builds, we touch files and directories so that our make
dependencies work correctly. Unfortunately, it seems that MKS' touch.exe
doesn't actually change the time stamp of a file or directory. The
command returns without an error, but the timestamp does not change.
The same problem exists

ajax call.
The Ajax call is to a javascript function that is in one of my js file.
Ive confirmed that the controller runs all the way till the render

Saving MS Word Documents to a Samba Share from NT
I have installed Samba 2.0.4a on SGIs running IRIX 6.5. My PC is running NT
Workstation SP 3. I have a problem saving documents from MS Word 97 SP 1.
If I create a new document and attempt to save it to a Samba share I get the
following error message: Word cannot complete the save due to a file
permission error. (G:\XX\TEST.DOC). A listing of the directory from Unix

Time stamps
I am new to SAMBA and I have what I'm not even sure is an issue. I am
aware of the difference in time stamps between *nix and Windows. What I
don't understand is this: I used touch to modify the time stamps of a
large number of files on the file server from the server side to match
the time in the file name. They were video files from my Digital Video
Cam and the import program used

Merge Data by time stamps
Dear all,
I have some device measurements and the time stamps I get from it have the below format:
MyStruct$TimeStamps[1,]
> [1] 2011.000 10.000 6.000 16.000 23.000 30.539
I can convert them easily with ISOdate() to a number and do the calculations I need.
One of my problems is that I want to gather my measurements to piles of duration (let's say) 5 minutes.
Afterwards I will
