ERRDOS - 50 when restoring a tar file
A collegue of mine has problems restoring files that are created with
smbtar. I also tried it (using smbclient -T) and encountered the same
problem. The tar file can be restored on unix without problem, but
restoring them on a PC results in the following error messages:
smbclient '\\jaap\temp' -Tx backup.tar

request of information about creating DLL from R to be used in other languages/programs
Hello
My question is the following. I have tried to find a similar subject in
archives but not found (perhaps bad search!) and I tried R-help and I was
advised that R-devel would perhaps better for my question
So I wonder if it is possible to create a dll from a R code to use it in
another language/program.
Indeed, one of my colleague wrote a R code combining some R functions to

Asterisk 1.6 and PrivacyManager with SIP
Hi all,
My latest Asterisk system is based on Debian squeeze with Asterisk
1.6.2.6-1 and SIP only. One of my favorite features that I had working
with Asterisk 1.4 is the PrivacyManager. However, this was not
straightforward, because anonymous SIP calls arrive with
${CALLERID(num)} = "anonymous", instead of being blank. So, to get it
to work I added the first three rules to

Can't backup Samba share using NT Server across the network
We have a small site with about 100 clients running of a linux box and
samba (which, benchmarks notwithstanding , seems faster than when it
used to run NT) .
We have been backing part of its disk space up using a NT server. We
moved from 2.03 to 2.04b and the backups started failing. The error in
the error log is as follows
[1999/06/22 17:58:42, 0] smbd/files.c:file_new(85)

Backing up Samba shares with Seagate Backup Exec for NT
Hello,
Does anyone have experience backing up their samba SMB shares with an
NT-based backup system? I'm using Seagate Backup Exec 7.0, and whenever I
select a share on Samba, I get a message saying "Unable to connect to
server, <F5> to retry", and then another one saying "A device specefic error
occured". My samba shares are all fully operational (I can access them

[LLVMdev] Couple of changes (2005 and other toolchain related)
Hola Jaap,
I'm curious which version of the source are you working with? It sounds
like you and I were working on the same problem yesterday, but I didn't
see those particular compiler errors. (I saw a couple of other ones for
which I submitted a patch).
I did see errors like the ones you saw with the CVS LLVM 2.0 sources a
while back, namely the missing < operator and the debug STL

PrivacyManager no longer working properly
Hi all,
Previously, I had the PrivacyManager working for me exactly as would
be expected, but after upgrading the OS to Debian lenny and Asterisk
to v1.4.21.2 that's no longer the case. Anonymous callers are still
confronted with the PrivacyManager, but now no matter what I set the
minlength value to, e.g.:
exten => jaap,n,PrivacyManager(1,1)
... (I'm not using a

Global Catalogue
Hello..
Can we promote the Samba AD DC (Version 4.6) to be a global catalogue
server? We need to integrate Websense Proxy with this and Proxy server
searches Global Catalogue on Port 3268.

Calling C from Fortran
I would like to call C routines from Fortran under linux as suggested in
section 5.6 of
the "Writing R extensions" documentation.
I'm familiar with Fortran but not with C.
I understand the example provided in Fortran:
subroutine testit()
double precision normrnd, x
call rndstart()
x = normrnd()
call dblepr("X was", 5, x, 1)
call rndend()
end
but I don't understand

calling fortran functions CHOL and DPOTRF form Fortran
Hi all,
I'm working out some Fortran code for which
I want to compute the Choleski decomposition of a covariance matrix
in Fortran.
I tried to do it by two methods :
1) Calling the lapack function DPOTRF.
I can see the source code and check that my call is correct,
but it does not compile with:
system("R CMD SHLIB ~/main.f")
dyn.load("~/main.so")
I get:

ggplot2: labels and breaks order does not match and I can't use scale_fill_identity
Hi,
I'm plotting a bar chart like this:
ggplot() +
geom_bar(data=res,aes(fill=f1,x=f2,y=y),stat="identity",position="dodge")
f1 contains quite a few levels and the plot is really quite difficult to
read when the order of bars on the graph and on the legend does not match.
This problem has been discussed recently here:

Something weird about draggable_element_js
Hi,
Because I want to create several draggable elements in a list, I''d
like to do the following:
<script type="text/javascript">
<%- elements.each do |element| -%>
<%= draggable_element_js("element_#{element.id}".to_sym, :revert
=> true) %>
<%- end -%>
</script>
However, if you''d try this in your app, you''ll
