Areskicc installation problems
Hi, I'm trying to install Areskicc but with no much sucess. After installing the UI I login as root/mypass, but in the left menu I only have 3 options: Main Template, disconnect and logout. When I click on Mail Template> Show mail template it shows an error page. First, is there a way to increase the debugging level so I can know what's going on behind the scenes? Second, I've

Question regarding user or group quantity limits
Well, It seems that I have exactly the same problem with my Samba 2.2.7a-8.9.0 (Redhat 9.0) ! I have ... around ... 60000 users and 140000 groups ! The "getent passwd" command don't show me all the existing users but around 10000 and the "getent group" command take a very long time but seems to be active ! When I redirect in a groups.txt file the result of the

Policy routing question
Hi, I have a testing multihome setup, with the default gateway being one of the links and using policy routing to honor requests for a specific link. Everything works as expected when I request a specific IP to bind to. But if I request a specific interface things fall apart in ways that I can not explain: default gw (WORKS) ---------- rabbit@Thesaurus:~$ ping -c 1 yahoo.com PING yahoo.com

Network filters with clean-traffic not working on Debian Stretch
Hello, I'm recently stumbled over the libvirt network filter capabilities and got pretty excited. Unfortunately I'm not able to get the the "clean-traffic" filterset working. I'm using a freshly installed Debian Stretch with libvirt, qemu and KVM. My config snippet looks as follows: sudo virsh edit <VM> [...] <interface type='bridge'> <mac

gre/ipsec loadbalancing
Hi, I have the following setup. Two linux systems with two [test] external interfaces encrypted with ipsec [transport]. Two gre tunnels that pass 10.200.0.0/24 and 10.200.1.0/24 network traffic. Testing the balanced tunnels I would setup iptraf on one and ping from the other. The results would be as expected; traffic would be split between the two interfaces. Testing with an ftp transfer of

Samba AD with multiple DC and multiple NICs
Hello everyone, I'm trying to add a second DC to a Samba 4 AD: they both have multiple NICs and for this reason cannot find a way to make it work. They communicate through VPN and both have one of the bound interfaces set to the same IP address, 172.20.0.1, which doesn't allow me to route to the correct DC, and that is only part of the problem. Here is the configuration: *

Cannot ping subnet hosts
Dear all, I am trying to configure a basic TINC vpn between two sites using OpenWRT routers. The link seems to work, the ping between the two routers is ok, but I can't ping hosts between the subnets behind the routers. This is the configuration: ======== SITE 1 (CLIENT) - polimnia (subnet 192.168.4.0/24, gw 192.168.4.1) tinc.conf ------------- Name = polimnia ConnectTo = calliope

Re: Network filters with clean-traffic not working on Debian Stretch
Dear Yalang, that did the trick. If I look in the NAT table of the bridge I can see the generated rules. Probably wouldn't have though about that ever. Thanks a lot! Avaya 9608G and DHCP and TFTP and HTTP oh my
Right-- I've seen the Avaya document you cite below. It says "To administer DHCP option 242, make a copy of an existing option 176" but I don't have any example of option 176 or 242 to copy, and don't know what to do to /etc/dhcpd.conf to make it offer option 242. Then there's this long table of parameters to use with (presumably) option 242. I was hoping someone had a

Cannot access other computers on LAN
Hi, I am trying to setup a VPN between roaming users and the office. Main usage will be VNC sessions to some Linux computers sitting on the office LAN. One machine on the office LAN, VPN_office, is dedicated to run tinc. The office router is behind another router for which we have no control, so I contracted an external computer VPN_out with a public IP to act as an in between connection. All

Two nmbd processes on 2.2.6
Hello, I have downloaded and compiled 2.2.6 to replace my 2.2.6pre. I spent a large part of the day debugging the startup script because it seemed to always be starting two nmbd processes instead of one. Eventually I tried running just /usr/local/samba/bin/nmbd - and still got two nmbd processes. Is this correct behaviour? On the first server (Dell 4600) I thought it might be because it has

OpenVPN and multiple ISPs
I have a server, server A, with three NICs: two to the Internet via separate ADSL modems, and one to the LAN. The two ''net'' interfaces are configured as described at http://www.shorewall.net/MultiISP.html. This has been working for a number of months. I am now testing an OpenVPN link between server A and another (currently single-ISP) server (server B). I can establish the VPN
