SAMBA digest 1565
Hi All: I am using NTRIGUE ( from Insignia Solutions) server which is basically WINNT3.5. I am not been able to connect from NTRIGUE to my samba server (1.9.17p1) which is running on my HPUX machine. I can easily connect from NT4.0 server machine and Win95s under same user account and password. I have set the registry setting EnablePlainTextPasswork:D_WORD=1 as documented in WinNT.txt Every

Authentication Problem Citrix NT 3.51 Samba 2.0.2
Hello, I am currently testing my old samba configuration, 1.9.18p10, under samba 2.0.2. Everything appeard o.k. for the first few hours, but then I started receiving calls from users of our Citrix based multi user NT 3.51 servers, that some of them could not connect to the samba shares. We are using two Citrix based boxes. Windd from Tektronix and NTRIGUE. I only had one user on the Windd

Hanging smbd Processes
To whom it may concern, I have a machine that runs the smbd server daemon on an HP-UX 9.07 for users that interact through Ntrigue. Unless the users exit out of their session correctly or if their Ntrigue session times out, the smbd processes will continue to run unless manually killed or the machine is rebooted. Is there any way that we can clean out these unused smbd processes other

WinnDD and samba printing
Hi, I'm using WinDD 3.0 on NT3.5.1 (with Service Pack 5) and I'm trying to use Samba to go to unix (solaris 2.5.1). Now everything works except the printer stuff. Somebody (Laurence C. Brevard) already gave a description on how to do this, but this involved the following step: connect to your unix printer as administrator The problem is: I can't connect to anything on Unix via

Keep-timestamp-in-`get'-patch for smbclient in samba-2.0.3
-------- --Multipart_Thu_Apr__8_13:33:51_1999-1 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Hello guys, I always wondered why smbclient keeps timestamp in `put'ting a file but does not keep it in `get'ting a file. Alternative to keep the time stamp in `get'ting file is to use -Tc option or smbtar script, but they are a bit hairy for interactive use, and it can only dump files with an

encrypted passwords: what negotiation with what client?
Hello man smb.conf encrypt passwords says: "This boolean controls whether encrypted passwords will be negotiated with the client. Note that Windows NT 4.0 SP3 and above and also Windows 98 will by default expect encrypted passwords unless a registry entry is changed." What does this mean? From my point of view it can mean 4 totally different things: 1) That when I run smbd with

Hint for upgrade from 2.0.3 to 2.0.5
After updating from NUT 2.0.3 to 2.0.5 I got this error from upsd during startup: Can't connect to UPS [myups] (myups): No such file or directory The problem was that newhidups created a pipe on /var/run/nut/newhidups-auto while upsd was looking for /var/run/nut/myups. The solution to the problem was to add the option "-a myups" to the newhidups command line in the init script.

[LLVMdev] Handling of DebugLocs during CSE of SelectionDAG nodes.
I've been investigating a case with the XCore target (which doesn't use FastISel) where the DWARF line number emitted at -O0 results in the xgdb visiting source lines in an unexpected order. I've tracked down the problem to the handling of DebugLocs in the selection DAG, in the getNode method shown bellow. It first tries to find if a similar node already exists in order to use that

linking problems of dovecot 2.0.3
Hello, I'm currently packaging dovecot 2.0.3 under Mandriva Linux. It has been using LDFLAGS="-Wl,--as-needed -Wl,--no-undefined" for shared libraries for over two years[1]. And I've found there are lots of linking problems with dovecot 2.0.3. After some investigation, I've made small patch regarding dovecot 2.0.3, posted here:

Preparing the 2.0.3-pre2 release
Hi there, I'm preparing the 2.0.3-pre2 release. I've decided, as an exception (the second with the ones for 2.0.2, but hey, nut has a lot of late to resorb) to merge the USB improvements from the CVS Development branch. That means that the updated newhidups, as well as tripplite_usb and bcmxcp_usb if these are fine. To Charles and Wolfgang: any comments, objections, last things to be
