nMDS with R: missing values
I'm not sure how you are incorporating time period into your data structure. Typically we are looking at plots or assemblages as the rows and taxa as the columns. Time period adds a third dimension that could be added as blocks of rows. For example, depending on the resolution of your data, one approach would be to have up to 8 rows for each locality: Loc1.1000, Loc1.2000, . . . Loc1.8000. If

Wine debug trace log makes things better?
I was running Riven with the command for a debug trace log because I wanted to file a bug report. Normally Riven freezes after the end of the intro video and also freezes fairly often after other videos and transition effects. But I found that when I ran Riven with the trace log command it didn't freeze at all, is there a reason for this? Should I still submit the trace log? I assume that as

d3d_caps error
Hello all, I just installed Linux Mint Debian Edition, which I have used in the past with Wine, and I'm trying to get Riven to run (which, again, I've used with Wine on this OS before). Wine isn't in the LMDE repository anymore for some reason, so I had to compile it myself (v. 1.2.3). I was able to install the game without a hitch, but when I try to run the EXE I get: Code:

[PATCH] customize, sysprep, v2v: handle Kali Linux as Debian
Kali Linux is a Debian derivative, so add basic support for it by using most of the Debian code paths. The only exception is the crypto algorithm for passwords in passwd, which is always assumed as SHA512 (as Kali Linux is relatively new). --- customize/firstboot.ml | 2 +- customize/hostname.ml | 2 +- customize/password.ml | 2 +-

Some dsound oddness
I had noticed a few weeks ago that sound for me on Riven was now having problems. It used to be almost perfect, but now it was suddenly doing things like changing pitch and speed, losing sync with the video, and breaking up. Of course I initially suspected a regression, though no one else mentioned problems. I just now got around to spending a bit more time on it and found it was not a

Rich, Thank you for the very quick response. I tried the echo command that you listed and it still gives me the same error: Any other possible suggestions?
