Problem mapping drive names on Win95
Hi, in my Office, I'm trying to replace a Novell-server by a Linux-server. On the Novell-server, there is the SYS: volume. On this volume is a directory named DriveT. I did a map on it, so this SYS:DriveT was used as T: . If you link Excel sheets, which are stored on T:, to Word documents, Word unfortunately saves the UNC path, which is \\SERVER1\SYS\DRIVET instead of T: On my new Samba

Strange Win Disk Size Info
Hi all, I run Samba 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.7 on a Ubuntu 8.04/x86_64 Xeon box. On one huge XFS file system, I have several shares, which have XFS project quotas applied. Looking at the file system info in Win (both 2k and xp), I see a *very* strange size display (see screen shot). Linux tells me about the folder hosting the share: root@mybox:~# df -k Filesystem 1K-blocks Used

Q: Samba & CUPS & Win Print Processor
Hi all, I have a problem while trying to migrate print services from a Win server to Samba 3.0.23c on an old FC 4 box. The Samba box is part of a AD domain, with spoolss enabled: <snip> security = ads domain master = no local master = no preferred master = no disable spoolss = no use client driver = no </snip> On the Linux box, I also have Cups 1.2.12 (self-compiled) running, with

NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE on auth to a win NT4-server
Hello, after long searching in the docs, the web and my Samba-books I have to ask here. I followed exact the steps described in the book: "samba-3 by example" up to chapter 5. What kind of trouble indicates this errormessage after trying this: server:# smbclient //domain/SHARE -U user -d 2 Password: session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE In my client-logfile

DOS Attributes with mixed xattr filesystem support
Hi, I'm running Samba as a glorified NAS at the moment - to begin with, I have an ext3 storage partition, /storage. In this is a directory, /storage/Personal, which has its own Samba share (also Personal). At this point, dos attributes using filesystem xattrs work beautifully. The problem comes when I start to fiddle further... I have a Novell NetWare filesystem (ncpmount) mounted at

Problem with dir /s on Win 95
Hi, today I found a strange behaviour on a Win 95 computer connected to our Samba server. I'm using Samba 1.9.18p8 on a PC running Linux. When I open a Dos-Box and do a dir /s, it normally shows the contents of the current directory and all of its subdirectories. When I open a second Dos-Box and unzip files from my PC to the server using UnZip 5.31 from Info-ZIP, the dir /s in the first

lattice: histogram of factor variable
Dear all, I am encountering a problem with lattice in the current version 0.14-13 with R version 2.4.0 on a Windows XP system. For example, histogram(~voice.part, singer) is not labeling the x labels according to the factor levels of voice.part, which it should do (and has done in former versions of lattice, as far as I remember). In addition, I get the warnings Warning messages: 1:

Preparing the 2.0.3-pre2 release
Hi there, I'm preparing the 2.0.3-pre2 release. I've decided, as an exception (the second with the ones for 2.0.2, but hey, nut has a lot of late to resorb) to merge the USB improvements from the CVS Development branch. That means that the updated newhidups, as well as tripplite_usb and bcmxcp_usb if these are fine. To Charles and Wolfgang: any comments, objections, last things to be

RE: [R] Re: failed rpm installation of R 1.2-1 (fwd) (PR#841)
I'm forwarding this to R-bugs. In R 1.2.1 the file $R_HOME/bin/maketitle.awk is installed as an executable. It should not be since it is just a set of awk commands, not a script file that can be run from the shell (This is a change from R 1.2.0 in which the file $R_HOME/bin/maketitle was a shell script). This confuses an rpm utility called "find-requires" which scans all executable

R-3.4.2: make check stops at line 698 of tests/reg-tests-1d.R
Dear Duncan, thank you very much, that is it! Indeed, there was activated in my internet router the "telekom navigation help". When I am (or the system is) looking for an not existent url, this "help" opens its own website. After deactivation of telekom navigation help, the normal message (server not found) comes. I never gave attention to this "help", although it is

ext3 Patch doesn't work with 2.4.13
Hi, I just wanted to compile my kernel 2.4.13 with the ext3-2.4.13-pre6 patch, but it doesn't work. It seems, that the patching failes by replacing some things in a textfile. Does anyone of you know, if there is a upcoming solution for this? Kind regards Jan Albrecht -- Jan Albrecht Phone: +49-5241-80-88404 System Consultant UNIX/NT Fax:
