NT network can't browse Samba
Hi, I'm trying to setup a Linux box with Samba (1.9.18p10) and it isn't having any luck making a home for itself on the network. If I go to a Windows95 machine, I see all (well most) machines on the net there, but not the Linux box. I can also not see any other machines from the Linux box. Here is log.nmbd output that repeats every 5 seconds or so: find_workgroup_on_subnet: workgroup

Win98 command line vs. long filenames
I just cranked up Samba 2.0.6 on NetBSD-sun3 1.4. The clients are Windows 98 (non-SE). I have had experience with earlier versions of Samba, so I was able to get 2.0.6 up and running without great difficulty. I exported a directory and was able to mount it on my Win98 machines fine. Using Explorer, everything looked like I expected it to: files were listed with their full names and I was able

[LLVMdev] speed and code size issues
So it would appear that llvm-gcc and clang are both slower than gcc4 which is infamous for being slow at compiling code, and yes this is with a release build/--enable-optimizations. This seems to go against notes such as http://clang.llvm.org/features.html#performance which claim clang is signifcantly faster than gcc. Below are some times and the larger object files when compiling an i386

Mac OS X + Samba + NT = Snag
After much nashing of teeth, I have compiled and installed Samba on Mac OS X! The following lines (or something like them) should probably be added to the config.guess file in the samba/source directory: Power*:Darwin:*:*) echo powerpc-apple-darwin${UNAME_RELEASE} exit 0 ;; I added them right after the "mac68k:OpenBSD:*:*)" section. I was not able to get the inetd installation

[LLVMdev] speed and code size issues
I'd look at if_spppsubr.o, which is big in the llvm directories and doesn't appear in the gcc directory listings at all (I assume the listings were fed through tail or something, but there's clearly a sizeable difference there) On Jul 17, 2009, at 5:41 PMPDT, Daniel Dunbar wrote: > On Fri, Jul 17, 2009 at 5:12 PM, Jonathan Gray<jsg at goblin.cx> wrote: >> On

Missing value in circ.mean and polar.plot
Hi, I try to compute circular means for a matrix with NAs, but the function "circ.mean" return only means for lines with complete values and do not accept "na.omit=T" or "na.rm=T", or "na.action=na.omit", or "na.fail=T". Also, I try to use "polar.plot" of the package poltrix with the same matrix, but angles are not display because of

I think the URL you want is actually http://clang.llvm.org/performance.html. The difference isn't as dramatic when you consider code generation, at least for the

Final touches to SAMBA: help please
I am running a sparc 20 with Solaris 2.5.1. I am trying to attach 95 an NT4 machines to it. I got the compiled Samba off the net somewhere and did a pkgadd. It installed fine. I have read the man pages and the FAQ, and run the tests on the UNIX side and all are fine. FYI, these are: smbclient -L nmblookup -B (on server and client) nmblookup -d 2 '*' nmbclient '\\av\tmp' (av is

Fail to detect DTMF over direct ISDN pri link
Hello, I'm using Asterisk (latest CVS head) to perform outbound call as robot/testing tool for an IVR platform, with a Wildcard T100P configure as ISDN Pri. For develop the exten context script I was using a real PSTN ISDN Megalink (DMS100) to reach the platform and my script was able to correctly detected the DTMF tone send back by the platform to synchronize the script. But for load test,

Scalix install on CentOS
Hey All, I read on the list here not to long ago a work around for the following error on CentOS for installing the scalix mail server... Error: unsupported OS release: CentOS release 4.2 (Final) on x86_64 Someone posted a fix where you could edit a file changing the name of the OS or something to fix this. Anyone remember which file it was I could edit and what I needed to edit it too

[LLVMdev] Support for "foreign" Visual Studio 64 bits C++ exceptions?
Hi, We are currently porting our application to Windows 64 bits (amd64), and we are getting regressions from 32 bits relatively to LLVM 3.0's ability to get traversed by "foreign" Visual Studio C++ exceptions. That is, there is a crash when C++ exceptions which are thrown from Visual Studio code, are unwinding through LLVM code before being eventually catch by other Visual Studio

Samba 2.2.2 and ScopeID
Hi, I have a client that was using a scope ID with 1.9.x and when we upgraded to 2.2.2, the "-i" option no longer worked. I also can't find any reference to "netbios scope" in the smb.conf man page. I noticed smbclient still has it as an option. I don't particularly like scope IDs, so I already know not to use them, but what's the status of it? Thanks.

R2/DTMF with Asterisk/E400P..how?
I just recently purchased an E400P card and am attempting to get it working. My requirements are for 2 ports to run Q.931 and the other 2 ports to run R2 signalling with DTMF inband. The card will operate in a drop and insert fashion with calls arriving on the ISDN side and being terminated on the R2 lines. There don't seem to be any examples out there of how to set up this card for R2
