I am experiencing a problem with all time stamps having the same date and time stamp. I found this bug report http://us1.samba.org/listproc/samba/June1998/0239.html and see there is a fix. Hi Group, I set up samba3.0 to work as ADS-Member-Server. I created a share called /test and chown group to gg_test to it. Access to share works without any problems. I also can add files and directories to this share. When I now make ln -l, the files I added got the group-permissions "Domain Users" and not gg_test, as I expected. Do someone know a solution? Hello, Thanks for your responses. I have attached a file containing the responses to ufw.log, syslog, ufw status numbered and ufw status verbose (Best use Word/Wordpad to open it). The OS is Linux Mint 19.1. Samba version 4.7.6 - Ubuntu. Samba runs on boot up. I connect using the file explorer Go -> Network menu selections. Hope this information will be of help. Regards, Marty

It also says that there is only a "force XXXX mode" (where XXXX is either create or directory). So a replacement of mask with mode will do the thing.
