Well, it's more akin to WinNT than 95/98. And I couldn't get the NT reg
edits to work.

rejected our name registration of WORKGROUP<1d> with error code 6
Hi to all, I have a samba server that was working with security share
in one subnet and now is listening on another interface, configured as a
PDC logon server with wins support and w98 clients, I followed the
howto:
http://www.linuxfocus.org/English/March2002/article177.shtml
The clients added to the domain execute the logon scripts fine, but they
do not see the samba server in nethood, though

Drive namings...
Just wondering if there is a way to get drive namings to change according
to who's logged into the network.
ie.
'bob' logs into windows networking and gets...
E: 'bob' on server kiwi.
Now if 'sue' logs into windows networking on the same pc she gets...
E: 'bob' on server kiwi.
But E: contains sue's stuff. So is there a way into making 'sue'

Exclude from not excluding "My Music" or "Printhood"
We have been using rsync for some time with Linux and FreeBSD, but are
just now trying to make it work with Windows. Not as easy as we hoped.
I am running the cwrsync client 3.0.6 on a new Windows 7 machine to a
FreeBSD 8.1 server. I have an exclude-from filelist, which does seem to
successfully exclude the directories given by many of its entries,
including these two lines:

"machine is not accessible" - how to fix???
Help!
I've broken something on my NT box - when I try to connect to my Samba
server through the nethood I get an error popup that says:
"<servername> is not accessible
The storage control blocks were destroyed"
I can connect to another samba server with no problem, other users
from other machines can connect to the above server with no problem
either. I can connect with net

Cleaning out the NetHood.
hi,
I'm getting a build up of domains in the NetHood. Every time
somone plugs into the network w/ a computer on a different
domain (usually a laptop) it get's left behind and does not
clear out.
We do use a central WINS server, that all other samba PDCs
access.
Any way to flush it out?

savePlot with % in character string
This occurred after I installed R x64 2.13.1 on Windows:
savePlot("95%.winners.wmf")
saves the file as:
"951nners.wmf"
Is this the correct behavior, or have I bungled something?

another superscript problem
I've exceeded the maximum time I am willing to accept for solving simple
problems so I thank all in advance for your assistance.
I am trying to plot text combined with an object value and a superscript.
obv = 5
text = "Population mean ="
ss = ^o # degrees
Something like this (very naive so you get the idea):
expression(text, obv, ss)
paste(text, obv) # works ...but of course I

WINS server not appearing in Nethood
Hi folks,
I've had a setup working for quite some time and everything's fine except that
the server that hosts the WINS never appears in the network neighbourhood,
and when trying to connect to that server there is a small delay.
As few people need to browse to it, the problem's had a low priority as the
WINS side of it is working fine, and the rest of the nethood is also working

hide dotfiles not working.
Just started with Samba a few weeks ago so am
still a newbie. Am serving a single W-95 client
reasonably well - it allows users to log on using
their unix id and passwd, and they can all browse
their unix home directories. However ....
I can't seem to get the "hide dotfiles" directive to work.
Nor the "hide files"!
Also, If a user on W-95 saves a file to unix called,

samba browsing through subnets with different nethoods
Hi everybody
I installed 2 subnets, one with a samba PDC fully functional and the other with just
one linux client (called CLIENTE) with samba running a basic configuration.
Subnet 1 has a samba PDC called BAR (domain FOOBAR with ip 192.168.1.1) that is also the wins
server for both subnets and the domain master browser for 192.168.1.0/24

S110M not working
Hi All -
I pulled from a working system a TDM400 with one s110 fxs and three
x100 fxos. I put it into a new box and the fxs no longer works. The
fxos work just fine. I thought it was odd, but I chalked it up to a
random chance failure and ordered another s110. The replacement
doesn't work either, and now I'm confused.
dahdi_scan recognizes the s110, but it says it fails. Output

"My Documents" and other symlinks to home are not listed
Hi. My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, and My Videos aren't visible (but accessible) from C:\users\%USER% . "Desktop", however, is visible.
This breaks precompiled samples from directx SDK 2004. I extracted them to My Documents/Downloads, and they can't find their resources.
This also affects cmd.exe, explorer, total commander.
Anyone else experience this?

New win32-dir
Hi all,
In lieu of Timothy''s pure Ruby junction code, and Zach''s VC++ 6 issues,
I decided to just rewrite the dang thing in pure Ruby using Win32API.
That will solve''s Zach''s problem and make it easier to add Timothy''s
code, which I plan to add (slightly modified) to the 0.2.0 release.
The code is below. One thing I have a question about is how to

Iterative regression through a series
Hello,
Some context: let's say I have a data series (let's call it PRICE, for simplicity), sample size N. I have a desire to regress that on TIME, and then to use the TIME and intercept coefficients to predict the price in the next period and to use the standard error to calculate a confidence interval. This is all very easy.
However, what I need help for is to calculate a

matching predictors and dummies
I am trying to make a little web interface for the lm() function. It
calculates both anova F-tests and parameters and returns it in a nice table.
However, I have a problem with matching the Anova predictors with the
regression coefficients: For numeric predictors there is no problem: the
coefficients have the same names as the predictors. However, when a factor
IV is specified, lm() automatically

I've googled and experimented for the past few hours but am still stuck
