SMB Signature verification failed on incoming packet!
I am running Samba 3.0.9/KRB5 1.4 on Centos 3.4 on x86 with security = ADS in a Win2k3 domain. I have successfully used kinit to authenticate, joined the domain, and wbinfo -g/-u/-t return the expected results. However, when I try and access the samba shares from a Win2k3 box, it fails telling me I don't have permissions to access the share. Needless to say I am thoroughly perplexed. I have

Failed Logins (ntang@rga.com)
Nicholas: Regarding your problem: "The SGI server is only serving files, no home directories, no printers (we have separate NT servers for each of those functions), and it is using "SERVER" level security. Encryption is on. Guest logins are disabled ... I'm confused greatly by this - one day, a user's login will work, another day, it'll suddenly stop working. "

SAMBA Server Not Seen in Network Brotherhood
AIX 5.1 / SAMBA 2.2.5 SAMBA server is a host server only (no PDC / WINS etc) in a 2000 AD domain. All shares can be accessed / authenticated correctly when mapped or called. But when a client browses MicroSoft Network Neighborhood the server does not show up. It does show up in Active Directory. We've still got users that cannot get away from Network Brotherhood usage. UNIX Server Not Seen In Network Nieghborhood
AIX 5.1 / Samba 2.2.5 / Active Directory DNS & WINS servers The Samba server is only a client and is not configured to be a WINS / DNS / PASSWORD server to PCs. It passes all these requests to W2K AD. Problem: The Samba server cannot be seen in Network Neighborhood / My Network Places when browsing. Debug: Samba server has a valid name / IP address entry(s) in DNS and WINS. Can get to

Call does not go voicemail
The "error" I was talking about was in your log: "...== Spawn extension (extensions, 4, 3) exited non-zero on 'IAX2/home_server-6364'..." The call terminated here in a error which prevented the dialplan from continuing. Something there is broken, my recommendation is to check you registrations first inside asterisk: > sip show peers Something wasn't

You can find both presentations at: http://wiki.centos.org/Events/Presentations I would like to receive feedback from an as wide audience as possible. The Dutch one needs to be updated to include all

NT_STATUS_NOT_SUPPORTED
Hi My Windows folks made security changes in AD that caused my Samba server to not work with AD anymore. Clients could not authenticate to their shares using their AD credentials anymore. Looking at the Samba log I could see error so I decided to reset the Computer account and to rejoin Samba to AD again. When I tried to join Samba to AD, "net ads join -U username", I got the following

CallerID shows wrong values in manager interface
Hi everyone, My manager interface seems to be producing wrong CallerIDs when internal extensions call each other. Can anyone see anything wrong in the configuration snippets pasted below? The following instance has extension 101 call 103. The phone does show the right caller ID, but notice that the manager interface has the CallerID as the target number (103). Thanks a lot for your time.

Authentication failure
Hi I'm having trouble routing a call between two A*k servers I admin. SERVER- A: has a simple extensions set, and just needs to Dial to server B, but authenticate as part of the dial: exten => 777,1,Dial(SIP/abc-777:mypassword at someip.no-ip.info:5071/777,40,trw) exten => 777,2,Hangup So that should pass the call to the server listening on port 5071 of someip.no-ip.info,

Rounding multinomial proportions
I present you with a function that solves a problem that has bugged me for many years. I think the problem may be general enough to at least consider adding this function, or a revamped version of it, to the 'stats' package, with the other multinomial functions reside. I'm using R to export data to text files, which are input data for an external model written in C++. Parts of the

Recommended Share Configuration
Samba 2.0.7 / AIX 4.3.3 Works as expected currently data path is /home. Using the special "share" of [homes] End users would like the ability to see each other's $HOME i.e. /home/joeblow browseable by all other users on the system or even just the users of the same group. Optimizing Linux with Samba
Hello, We are reading a lot in the press about which is better, NT or Linux, and I am not going to start a thread about that! However, one of the issues that does seem to be repeated, is that both operating systems and software need to be 'tuned' to get the best possible results. Furthermore, you need to be an expert, with considerable experience to know what to do. I am running a Linux

cAos/CentOS Users in Boston/New England area
I'm still looking for any volunteers in the Boston or New England areas that would be willing to help out at LinuxWorld in February. It goes Feb 14th - 17th, but the expo part is only 15th - 17th. If you can't come all three days, that's fine, but I would appreciate if there were a couple people that could come at least a day or two. Also, If you help out you get a 3 day pass to the

TRW: getters and setters
Hi all, I mentioned this on the forum but wasn''t sure if anyone was paying attention. I was just wondering if it would be possible to replace the get_something/set_something style methods with the more Rubyish something/something= style (i.e. uniform access). For example, the Button class currently has button.get_label and button.set_label("foo"). It would give me warm,
