OS X compile errors
This is a problem with the code that does DLL on windows. The 'off' switch assumes "unix" is #defined by the compiler, which it isn't on Darwin. I am going to check in a fix soon that will be in flac-1.0.5-beta2. In the meantime you can manually add -Dunix to the two assignments of OUR_CFLAGS_TAIL in configure. R on Mac OS X: odd errors when doing install.packages()
Should I be worried? The installation seems to go through fine and apparently nothing is broken. The errors I repeatedly get are like this: g++ -no-cpp-precomp -I/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Resources/include -I/usr/ local/include -DUNIX -DOPTIM -DNONR -fno-common -g -O2 -c unif.cpp -o unif.o g++ -bundle -flat_namespace -undefined suppress -L/usr/local/lib -o rgenoud.so c hange_order.o

UNIX -> WinNT Username/Password Synchronization Revisited!
Hello all! Brief Scenario: We use a home grown "Accounts Registration Server" (ARS) to create, track, modify and delete required accounts (via a secure TCP connection) on various host computers (currently only OpenVMS and Digital UNIX servers). We currently use a DUNIX box as the primary student POP3 mailserver (which also runs SAMBA). Account registrations (approx 30,000) are

Monitoring/controlling the print spool
I crossed few similar questions in the digest and the news group, however I didn't cross the solution. I set a Linux Slackware as a samba server (16p11) with HP LJ attached to its parallel port. The server takes care of the print jobs too well; The server spool simply swallows print jobs. What should be the set up to let an MS user (95/wfw) monitor ("lpq") and control

OS X compile errors
I just tried to compile FLAC 1.0.5 beta1 under Apple's X11 v0.1 (released today) and it didn't work. The error message was: file_decoder.c: In function `_declspec': file_decoder.c:477: warning: unused parameter `dllimport' file_decoder.c:478: warning: unused parameter `FLAC__file_decoder_process_until_end_of_file' make[4]: *** [file_decoder.lo] Error 1 make[3]: ***

Samba Printing
Good Afternoon, We recently added encrypted smb passwords to our site. I just tried to add a printer to samba and it will not work. I tried to connect to \\sambahost\printer and it will not connect. All the older printers still work. I just wonder if there is an extra step I need to perform now when I add printers? Thanks for your time, Bill -- William M. Fennell Network Administrator

Printers now don't work - what can I check?
My Samba-shared printers (v2.0.3) printers worked great until I updated several software packages last weekend. These printers are networked and can still be used by running lpr from the command line of my Linux (RedHat v5.2, kernel 2.2.5) server. Print jobs sent from the client machines (OS/2 and Win98) are not printed. A job sent from a client machine is apparently just lost. Nothing

Can't connect to shares w/2.0beta3 on OSF1
I was running 1.9.18p10 on a test DEC Unix 4.0d box here and I decided to give 2.0beta3 a try. For some reason, I cannot connect to any of the server's shares or even get a list of it's services (via Start->Run->\\server) from Win95 clients. It asks for a password and no matter what I put in there I get "The password is not correct. Try again." I configured Beta3 a la:

[RFC] Move btrfsck in to the btrfs command
NOTE: in order to apply this patch you should: git mv btrfsck.c cmd-fsck.c This patch moves btrfsck in to "btrfs fsck". It also adds support for symlinks to the btrfs binary to retain compablity, =) I think something should be done to the help description but i''m not sure what... Anyway, feedback is welcome. -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe

[PATCH 1/2] btrfs-progs: mixed back ref support
This patch adds mixed back ref support for btrfs programs. The mixed back ref is a new disk format. back compatilibity is still not implemented. To try the new disk format, you need fresh formatted btrfs. [PATCH 0/3] Btrfs-progs: restriper interface
Hello, This is the userspace part of restriper, rebased onto the new progs infrastructure. Restriper commands are located under ''balance'' prefix, which is now the top level command group. However to not confuse existing users ''balance'' prefix is also available under ''filesystem'': btrfs [filesystem] balance start btrfs [filesystem] balance

[RFC] btrfs-progs: fix sparse checking and warnings
Hi gang, I was a little surprised to see that patch go by recently which fixed an endian bug. I went to see how sparse checking looked and it was.. broken. I got it going again in my Fedora environment. Most of the patches are just cleanups, but there *were* three real bugs lurking in all that sparse warning spam. So I maintain that it''s worth our time to keep it going and fix
