One problem down, one to go...(I think)
Thanks for all of the tips I received on my earlier query concerning not
seeing the share on Win95 Network Neighborhood. I was able to resolve it
by incorporating the smbd and nmbd in my inetd.conf. Why it didn't work as
command-line daemons is anybody's guess.(Thanks Mr. Gates).
Anyway, I have this box(FreeBSD2.2.2) using a remote printer on an HP-UX
10.10 system. It is all configured

[PREVIEW] SmallCap
Somebody suggested SmallCap and that sounds great. This is by no stretch
of the imagination Capistrano, so it might better be named MicroCap but
it may be useful to some who have (as I do) modest needs in this regard,
especially for on-server versioning.
Here''s a preview of the usage:
Usage: ruby smallcap.rb [options]

Remove specific rows in a matrix/data.frame
Hi,
imagine the following matrix/data.frame
Letter Number
a 1
a 1
b 1
b 0
c 0
c 1
d 0
d 0
If the numbers for two identical letters are also identical then I want to
remove either the first or the
second row of that letter. If for a letter the numbers are 1 and 0 I want to
remove the row with the 0.
That means if the code works I would and up with the following
matrix/data.frame

error in NORM lib
Dear alltogether,
I experience very strange behavior of imputation of NA's with the NORM
library. I use R 2.2.0, win32.
The code is below and the same dataset was also tried with MICE and
aregImpute() from HMISC _without_ any problem.
The problem is as follows:
(1) using the whole dataset results in very strange imputations - values
far beyond the maximum of the respective column, >

PTgui.exe runs fine on one Kubuntu 6.0.6 pc but not on another
Hi all,
I'm trying to run ptgui.exe on my kubuntu box. I'm already trying for
about 3-4 months. (Actually I also tried it about 1,5 years ago.) I'm
running wine version 0.9.20, but my problem already goes back to 0.9.10
or so.
When I couldn't get ptgui to run on my laptop, I installed the base X
packages and wine also on my server. My server (also) runs ubuntu 6.06

I try to run whbook.exe (www.whsoft.de) with wine. whBooks is a software

My first run produces the output as you see in the attachment.
Are there any chances to run it under wine? What have I to do for?

Many thanks for your response

smbfs not showing all files
I've a PC with a 2.2.13 kernel and Samba 2.0.7. It serves shares to our lan and
has had no problems since its install.
Recently, I tried to copy a bunch of files from an older OS/2 server to the
Samba server via smbclient and smbmount. Neither shows all the files in a few of
the several directories on the OS/2 server, and neither agrees with the other as
to the actual number of files.

Connecting to a Novell Server
I am trying to connect our centos 4.4 machines to our Novell Netware 5
servers.
The goal is to allow the centos 4.4 clients to connect to the server and
access shared folders. We are not looking for a single sign-on style
solution just the ability to connect.
I have tried searching google but I did not find anything really usefull as
most of the hits pointed toward SUSE and in our case we have

rsync error with novell server
Hi guys!
I'm using rsync to update my work and mail
from my Unix-workstation to my home directory
on a Novell-Server...
This is what I get as a message after the rsync is
finished
rsync error: partial transfer (code 23) at main.c(578)
I understand that rsync was trying to chown a
directory on the server which Novell doesn't support
(or our admin doesn't :}) ... however, I

squid ldap novell
One of my future projects is to get squid working with ldap and
novell. Has anyone had experience doing this on CentOS/RHEL? I''ve
never worked with ldap, and I''m barely familiar with novell. I''m
mostly looking to see if there are any issues I''ll have before I get
into reading ldap docs and such. I''ll be using CentOS3.4.
