There are no currently logon servers available when mapping with "net use"
Hi people, I have a problem and I need so much of your help.
I have a login script in \\server1\netlogon\script.bat (on my PDC and BDC)
that runs "net use" commands to map some shares in time of the logon.
This login tries to map share in another server (samba member of domain
\\server2).
So, I put the result at a log and appears these lines:
"
System error 1311 has occurred.

password change problem and no logon servers available
Hi,
we are using SAMBA 3.6.1-1 (updating this archlinux machine is tooo ugly)
and 3.6.6-1 on archlinux with the LDAP (Server version is 2.4.26-3) backend
and manage the users, groups and computer by using the smbldap-tools.
Currently we are experiencing the following problems:
1. changing the passwords takes longer than 30 seconds <- That's bad
because we are using a gigabit ethernet

win 7 no logon servers available error
Hi
I have joined a win 7 computer to my samba domain. Logging in gives me:
'There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.'
The win 7 machine is called S-PC and getent passwd gives me:
S-PC$:x:1002:100:Machine:/var/lib/nobody:/bin/false
lynn2:*:1001:1001:l:/home/lynn2:/bin/bash
lynn2 is an ldap user who can login OK.
I see that /var/lib/samba(netlogon is

no logon servers available
Hi,
I am running samba 2.2.7 as a PDC with a couple of Win2k workstations
participating in the domain. Once in a while of the workstations, I can't
access shares on the other, getting a message "no logon servers available".
Once I restart smbd and nmbd via /etc/init.d/smb stop start, the problem
goes away immediately. I tried to search in samba logs, but there were no

cross subnet browsing/domain logon problem
Dear all,
I'm having great difficulty getting cross-subnet domain logon & browsing to
work and have nearly reached the end of my sanity trying to figure out
what's wrong. Here's my setup and what's happening (apologies if it is
convoluted):
Subnet A
One Samba PDC with encrypted passwords.
One samba file server
Subnet B
One Samba file server (serverB) that is the *local

AW: SAMBA 3 as PDC - W2K/WXP Pro logon trouble
Oh, so you are using ldap..., well I'm still working with smbpasswd as

Anyway, I tried 'net getlocalsid' for the domain-sid -> ok
Next 'net usersidlist' which should show me the user-sids -> didn't

no logon server on trusted domain
Hi,
I'm doing Samba PDC (named as LUMAD, 192.168.2.154 on Fedora 27) using
samba 4.7.4 with Windows 2016 AD (named as SANDBOX, ip 192.168.2.144) as
the trusted domain, but there's some issue with it. I *can't login *using
Windows AD credentials but on the *Samba PDC account works well *on Windows

Domain logon trouble
Hi all:
I have setup a RedHat Linux 7.3 server, compiled SAMBA v.
2.2.5 to use LDAP. I have my smb.conf files set up to
become a PDC. My PDC talks to my LDAP Directory Server, but
I am having some problems with the domain logon feature.
I have a Win98 box (this PC and my linux server are on the
same subnet) configured to log into my domain, using a WINS
server (which happens to be the same

Samba PDC/LDAP not mapping "logon drive"
Well it took forever (three days actually) to:
1) setup a working ldap server.
Unix users now authenticate against the LDAP server perfectly.
2) Setup samba to use LDAP authentication.
3) Get the WindowsXP machines to become members of the domain.
Everything seems to be working fine except for
1) roaming profiles, and
2) User's home directory (logon drive) doesn't get

Samba processes domain authenticated user as nobody during logon. bat execution
Beating head on desk again!
I have a samba server is running winbind which can access domain. It is
working fine and is using domain credentials. I access the samba shares
after the user has authenticated against a novell server during the novell
logon script. The shares are authenticated with user domain credentials and
verified with smbstatus. This works great!
If I alternatively use windows

Samba not "seen" as logon server / PDC anymore...
Dear all,
since yesterday our samba PDC did "loose" his master status within our LAN for
the domain "SRG" - since then windows boxes did not "see" the logon server
anymore.
nmblookup -T -M SRG
is reporting some of the windows machines (one box running since more then a
year...).
- net rpc join -S SRG -U root (on the PDC works)
- net rpc join -S

W2k, SP4 and Domain logon
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi all.
Yesterday I had the funny idea of upgrading all my Windows 2000 Professional
worksations (20 W2k boxes more or less) to SP4.
I run Samba 2.2.8a on a glorious RedHat 6.2, and after the endless
download-and-reboot I found with no W2K client able to logging in.
I skimmed the mail archives, tried a bunch of suggestion from really a lot of

Logon Hours with Samba PDC
I have been searching for information about implementing Logon Hours with a
Samba 2.2.5 PDC (or for that matter any version of SAMBA) but haven't yet
noticed any postings or correspondence. I have set up a a Samba PDC and
have mapped shares, authenticated users, blah blah blah, .... everything
seems to work fine. I checked with 'rpcclient' to see what sort of

win 10 client on linux pdc, join domain ok, logon script fails to run
Hi,
Just in case someone looks at this thread, I've fix my samba win10 issue
with PDC. Here's what I did:
To over come perhaps a DNS issue where complete name of server including top
level domain name could not access box as \\hostname.tld\<share>
I change the hostname to match netbios name.
#cat dev2 > /etc/hostname
#reboot
edited hosts file to make sure old name was

Delay in 'logon home' being set
Hi folks,
Is the above possible? I'll explain.
I've set up samba v3.0.25b-1.el4_6.5 as PDC. Everything Samba itself
seems to work fine (at least according to every test I've come across
online).
However, I've spent the better part of 3 days trying to get an XP SP2
client to correctly execute the logon script. EVERY possible thread,

Can't logon SAMBA server from NT client, but win95 could...?
Dear Sir:
I found a problem on our LAN environment:
* We have some NT machines for small-scale WWW services and LAN services
* We have UNIXs with SAMBA to share resources, and provide large-scale
WWW services
It's OK to connect to the UNIX shares from win95 machines, but I found it
always
says that I have no permissions if I try to logon the UNIX shares from a
NT client.

Domain logon from behind proxy...
I think this has been addressed a few times,
but without quite satisfactory results.
I have a private subnet behind an NAT
proxy server (IPMASQ), and a public subnet
on the other side with the NT PDC on the public.
(Using both NetBEUI & TCP/IP). The PDC
will change later, but currently I'm trying to
find out how this all works before I do that.
