Centos 5 on Large Disks.
Hi All,
Sorry if this has been answered many times.
But i have been going through a lot of pages (via google search).
The more i search, the more its confusing me.
I have a server with 6 (750G each) SATA disks with H/W Raid 5.
I plan to allocate the space as follows
swap 8G
/boot 100M
/ 20G
-- and remaining space to /data{1,2,3,N} (equal sizes)
However after the installation and reboot, i got

Peculiar situation while build httpd-2.2.6 from provided spec
Hi all,
While build a rpm from the httpd-2.2.6 sources (spec file included in
the source package), i had a situation where packaging would fail at the
step where several link are created for "logs" etc directories.
<<..snip from httpd.spec...>>
# symlinks for /etc/httpd
ln -s ../..%{_localstatedir}/log/httpd $RPM_BUILD_ROOT/etc/httpd/logs
ln -s ../..%{_localstatedir}/run

centos command to monitor a process for exit
Is there a command that will monitor a process for exiting (crash or
normal exit) and
then execute another command based on the said process no longer being
active?
Or is there a "wrapper" command that runs a process and when that
process exists
due to crashing or just exiting normally) that another process can be run.
Thanks,
Jerry

anyone care to point me in the right direction? LVS
i'm trying to setup LVS, and tried both the lvs-dr and the lvs-nat,
but can't get any to work.
I'm hoping people here can answer a few questions that might help and
shed light onto the situation?
#1 with regards to the Real Servers, is there anything that needs to
be configured other that the http service? I ask this, because I
suspect yes, and it has to do with what type of LVS you

/etc/sysconfig/iptables on a stock CentOS 5 install
Greetings:
i have a pretty stock CentOS 5 machine with ports 80 and 22 exposed, so
my /etc/sysconfig/iptables file is pretty standard/straightforward.
my question is: how is this config file initially generated? i'd
like to
re-create it, and add a couple of rules .... so i don't want to lose
what's
in there already.
i see that my /etc/sysconfig/system-config-securitylevel has

vorbisfile for Mac Classic
Hi, this is my first post, I hope it's the right
mailing list (or should it be vorbis@xiph.org?)
I just downloaded "SDK for MacOS9" and tried to
compile the "vorbisfile_example.c" sample with
CodeWarrior for Mac 8 on a Mac OS 9.2 machine. I
included the libOgg and libVorbis libraries in my
project, but the linker cannot file ov_clear(),

Need Login/Authorization/User Management Advice
I''m new ot rails and am revamping one of my first rails projects and
would like some advice on user authentication and management.
In my app I implemented the basic user login functionality as it is in
