Samba 2.0.5a error when adding machine to domain
Yesterday, I found that a required file for Samba was empty and had been modified recently (< 1 hour before I was called to investigate). I later found out that the Samba software modifies this file on a set schedule if I leave the default settings alone. The file was PAYCHEX.<netbios-nameA>.mac. Because this file was empty, I figured I was screwed and had to add the machine to the

patch: openssh 3.9p1 on hp-ux 10.20
OpenSSH 3.9p1 does not compile on HP-UX 10.20 due to the code which was added in includes.h to work around HP-UX 11.11's behavior. The following patch lets it work on HP-UX 10.20. It should also work on HP-UX 11.11, but I can't test that (no HP-UX 11 boxes here). It uses code from http://www.faqs.org/faqs/hp/hpux-faq/section-213.html . The copyright at

Problems compiling OpenSSH [no version info] on HP-UX 10.20 w as: (no subject)
Aloha Rip Thanks for your quick response. I did compile OpenSSH stuffs by using GCC 2.95.2 first, the error is the same. Since there are no issues on other platforms by using GCC 3.3.2, I tried to take a luck on HP-UX 10.20 by using GCC 3.3.2. Unfortunately, it is same, even at the same line What I am guessing is that it could be from some system environment variable setting, but I am not sure

Problems compiling OpenSSH [no version info] on HP-UX 10.20 was: (no subject)
Aloha Jiwen (I used to get kama'aina discounts, but no longer)-- First, you didn't tell us what OpenSSH source code version you're trying to compile. Without that info there are any number of possible problems--so I'll assume (for now) that you're using the latest released portable version of OpenSSH. Please reply with specific version info. The fact that things are blowing

RES: Tuning SaMBa in HP/UX 10.20 (200 Users)...
I'm running SaMBa 2.2.3a, compiled by myself... I heard a long time ago in this list that you can reduce the size of the binaries by recompiling the source, whit some new variables... But I don't know what are they... Antw: Ctrl-C problem on HP-UX
Hi Ryan, I run into the same problem with my HP-UX 11 as well as HP-UX 10.20 boxes. Therefore I decided not to start the sshd from the swagent in the postinstall script. I start the daemon via the lan console by hand. I know in large environments it is not a perfect solution but the only one which works these days ;-(( regards Stephan -- LDS Brandenburg Dr. Stephan Hendl fon: +49-(0)331-39 471

samba v2.0.3/Solaris 2.5.1/HP-UX 11.0/Rational ClearCase v3.2.1
Hi - I'm getting timouts trying to access us1.samba.org or I'd look through the archives first. Anyone currently supporting any versions of Rational's ClearCase/samba/UNIX/NT? We are currently running samba v2.0.3 on both HP-UX 11.0 (vob server) and Solaris 2.5.1 (view server). Rational ClearCase v3.2.1 on the two UNIX and NT Workstation 4 (some SP3, some SP4) We currently support

OpenSSH 6.5 on HP-UX 10.20
Hi, just a minor bugreport. OpenSSH 6.5 needs a fix to compile on HP-UX 10.20. On HP-UX 10.20, ntohs is not defined in "netinet/in.h" but in "arpa/inet.h". readconf.c misses the required additional #include <arpa/inet.h>: $ diff -c readconf.c readconf.c_new *** readconf.c Fri Jan 17 14:03:57 2014 --- readconf.c_new Mon Feb 3 01:18:29 2014 *************** ***

Samba 2.0.5aq and HP-UX
hi all samba compiles and installs on hp-ux 10.20 and 11.0 whithout any problems. on hp-ux 10.20 samba works fine with a few users, but on 11.0 each open smb connection consumes a lot of cpu time even if the connection is inactive. this makes the system unusable. samba 1.0.4 with same configuration woks fine. i saw in this llist mailing from phillip link, also probems wit hp-ux. is there an

Problems compiling 1.2.2 on HP-UX 10.20
Hi, I'm trying to compile OpenSSH-1.2.2 on HP-UX 10.20 but immediately fall into the problem pit.. I've got gcc v2.8.1 and the first error is something like: defines.h:93: parse error before `u_int64_t` I got around this by uncommenting (guessing) line 118 in config.h: #define HAVE_UINTXX_T 1 But then I got another error when trying to compile sshd.c, I get an error message like:

openssh-3.7.1p2 on HP-UX 10.20
Hello, I have dowloaded all that is required to build a working OpenSSH on HP-UX 10.20 from the HP-UX Porting and Archibve centre (this seems to be the only way to go for 10.20). Make/install of all prerequisites has scucceeded. Now make of openssh-3.7.1p2 gives the following: gcc -g -O2 -Wall -Wpointer-arith -Wno-uninitialized -I. -I.. -I. -I./.. -I/usr/local/openssl-0.9.7b/include

Samba problems with HP-UX
Hello, I'm Jeff P. Nuebel with Rockwell - Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We run a large mixed network of Solaris, HP-UX, linux, NT, w2k, and XP. After testing/deploying 2.2.2 to 400+ workstations from 2.0.6 to 2.2.x, in order for W2K and XP to see there home accounts living on departmental UNIX production workstation, we have ran into problems on the HP-UX side of the fence with Windows 2k

smbsh on HP-UX (SAMBA digest 1962)
I tried linking smbwrapper.so directly into bash, but that only works for bash and not any of the subprocesses it runs. That is bash can cd into the /smb directory and I can do an echo * to list files. But if I run a system command (ls, emacs) they can't see the /smb directory because they aren't linked with smbwrapper.so. -----Original Message----- From: Dirk De Wachter

Antw: problem with installing openssh on HP/UX
Hi, > acro-284> uname -a > HP-UX niit1 A.09.01 A 9000/730 2015353714 two-user license I don't know what "niit1" stand for. We use openssh on several HP 9000/800 series (HP-UX 10.20, 11.00) compiled with gcc-2.95.2 and did not run into problems with the latest portable openssh version and the pam-patch provides earlier in this list. warnings building openssh-3.0.2p1 on HP-UX 10.20
I'm getting a number of compiler warnings about type mismatches, building openssh-3.0.2p1 on HP-UX 10.20 with the HP ANSI C compiler. The resulting code seems to work, but spot-checking suggested that some of the warnings are the result of mixing int and u_int types, which might introduce subtle bugs. I figured it might be worth reporting, since I'm in the minority of people not
