OPLOCKS....
Hi, I have an application under Access that is running dead slow. I've done some testing and it appears that Access really likes to use OPLOCKS which of course Samba does not support. Is there any work underway to get Samba to support OPLOCKS? I know they are difficult to implement but I'm faced with a decisions now to buy an NT box (Ugh!) or do a lot of messing around to get this

smbclient
I am receiving this error randomly when using smbclient to access pc shares : FINDFIRST gave ERRSRV - (Non-specific error code.) I use smbclient with Amanda to backup pc shares. For amanda to work, it uses smbclient to recursively scan through the entire directory tree and get total MB size of each directory. The problem is that when trying to enter some directories it gives the above error and

Samba 2.0.5aq and HP-UX
hi all samba compiles and installs on hp-ux 10.20 and 11.0 whithout any problems. on hp-ux 10.20 samba works fine with a few users, but on 11.0 each open smb connection consumes a lot of cpu time even if the connection is inactive. this makes the system unusable. samba 1.0.4 with same configuration woks fine. i saw in this llist mailing from phillip link, also probems wit hp-ux. is there an

Authentication Problem...
Hi All, I am sure that you have all read this email a thousand times before, but I am having problems getting the information together and checking that what I think I can do, can be done :) At the moment, we currently have 3 or 4 sources of authentication. We have Novell thats used or all users, OpenLDAP thats used for all mail accounts and some NT accounts that are used for things like

Using snmp for APC smarts
Hi, I'm new to nut. I have some 100 APC Smart-UPS 2200 & 3000's and I'm trying to do some calibration test on them. I've installed nut, with driver = snmp-ups mibs = apcc in ups.conf. I can read the variables using upsc. However it seems, I can't actually execute commands on the UPSses this way. ( upscmd some-ups calibrate.start ) Do I miss something, or are those

Collectively dominance
Hi, Is there any way to quickly test if a set of basic block collectively dominate another basic block? Thanks Hongbin -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: <http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/attachments/20170425/b9336a6d/attachment.html>

Re-attaching zpools after machine termination [amazon ebs & ec2]
I''m trying to provide some "disaster-proofing" on Amazon EC2 by using a ZFS-based EBS volume for primary data storage with Amazon S3-backed snapshots. My aim is to ensure that, should the instance terminate, a new instance can spin-up, attach the EBS volume and auto-/re-configure the zpool. I''ve created an OpenSolaris 2009.06 x86_64 image with the zpool structure

Collectively dominance
Like I said, i'm nearly positive there is a much faster way, as the sets are mostly shared except in the cyclic case, and in all reducible cyclic cases, removal of back-arcs does not affect dominance (because in any reducible flowgraph, v dominates u whenever u,v is a back-arc) On Tue, Apr 25, 2017 at 7:38 PM, Hongbin Zheng <etherzhhb at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi Daniel, > >

Puppet & EC2: Attach an EBS volume at boot?
Is it possible, using puppet, to configure an EC2 instance so that when it boots it attaches & mounts an EBS volume? An update on the DominatorTree and incremental dominators
Hi folks, For the past month I’ve been working on improving the DominatorTree and PostDominatorTree in LLVM. The RFC that explains the motivations and plans can be found here: http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2017-June/114045.html . Here’s a short summary of what changed upstream since posting it: - We switched from the Simple Lengauer-Tarjan algorithm for computing dominators

SATA controller Dell Optiplex 745
Hi, The CentOS 4.4 installation doesn't work on a Optiplex 745 because it doesn't support the sata controller. Is there a known work-around? (smaller prob: dvi video doesn't work at install time, vga only) If only we had CentOS 5 :-) Cheers, -- Henk van Lingen, Systems Administrator & DBA (o- -+ Dept. of Computer Science, Utrecht University.

Newer GnuPG (S)RPMS?
Hi, Has anyone newer GnuPG (S)RPMs than the one coming with CentOS (gnupg-1.2.1-10). That one obviously has problems (for example: it doesn't recognize new signatures on keys when doing 'gpg --import keysfile'). I tried to build new packages from various SRPMs from the Fedora distros. The builds went oke, however, after installing them (no complaining debs) this error occurs when

Nautilus / Desktop Icons
Hi, I've a nautilus problem with CentOS 4. It doesn't show the desktop items any more (also after dropping all gnome files/dirs from a users homedir) en the right mouse button menu also doesn't work. Googling around I've found various items about the problem but until now not a clear solution. Some people mention some 'browser mode in nautilus preferences'. But I

Hi, As there is no (decent) way to specify a particular repo for an particular package with yum, I'm having an odd problem: Although the version numbers differ, I have 2 spamassassin pkgs in different repo's (updates and my own addons) which are seen as updates to eachother: jelsum:/root-# tail -11 /var/log/yum.log Sep 02 04:26:34 Installed: perl-Mail-SpamAssassin.i386 3.1.0-1 Sep 02

long character string problem
Hi All I am having 2 very long character strings (550chars) and I want to put them as expressions together with c(). The problem is that I also get these double-quotes, as seen below in 'fct'. How can I remove these double-quotes? I tried as.name() but it did not work (because of size?). These are creating trouble with subsequent programs, which I tested with strings that for some

Make puppet clients look at a domain name rather than an IP?
In the docs it says one must add a line to the /etc/hosts file with the name "puppet" and the IP of the puppet master. This isn''t a possibility for us as the IP is subject to change. Is it possible to configure the puppet clients to look for a specific domain to find the master? eg. "puppetmaster.mydomain.com"? If so, how/where can this be configured? -- You received
