IIS and Samba
Hello, I have samba running on SunOS 5.8 Generic sun4u sparc SUNW,UltraSPARC-IIi-cEngine and I'm connecting to it using IIS 5 and windows 2000 or NT. The problem is that IIS can't execute the test.htm page within that directory but, I can do this fine with apache. I can connect using >net use //myserver. I can also browse using IIS and it does show me the directories within

File transfer speed issue
Hi all, I have aproblem with Samba copying (unfortunatly I'm new to samba so my skills are fairly limited). I have a sun box (solaris 8) with samba 2.2.2. Copying from sun to a nt server is fast (as good as you would expect) however, copying from the nt server to the sun box is slow (files copy normally, then slow to a complete halt then copy very slowly). We cannot see anything on a

Help: Access to samba shares through IIs ftp
It has been one of those days. I need to connect some samba shares to an IIs ftp server running on NT. I know the ftp server can connect to non-local NT shares, but can't get it to connect to samba shares. It appears that we do not have the authentication set up properly. Setting up the ftp server requires us to pick the samba share and give a username/passwd to attach the share. When the

Samba server with IIS Clients
Does anyone out there have multiple IIS servers using a Samba server for a common file store? I'm trying to do just that and I'm having a hell of a time with permissions in Windows to get things like IIS publishing and Frontpage to work correctly. The Samba server is acting as the domain controller, which seems to work fine. Both IIS servers are members of the domain and both have valid

Rails on Win2k/IIS 5.0
I''ve got Rails running pretty well, but with a catch that is kind of specific to our environment, maybe someone can help. Basically we have a Win2k/IIS5.0 server (this is the c: drive) that only has the site configuration and the perl, php, .net and ruby stuff on it. All the data files are supposed to be on our netApps filer (call this filer1). This is our written IT Security Policy and

Rails & IIS
There are several sites I''ve found on the web detailing how to setup IIS with Rails. Unfortunately they all seem to be woefully out of date. I believe they may all even be pre Rails 1.0. Can single sign on via Active Directory Services be accomplished through mod_NTLM for Apache, so users won''t have ot log into the intranet site after already having logged into their machine?

Samba and IIS question
Denny Lee wrote: > I have a question with using Samba and IIS on NT Server 4.0. Could you ask it on samba@samba.org, please? samba-technical is about internal implementations issues... Of course, having said that, the authentication errrors look as if the web server didn't have permission to read the files Samba provided. Do the Unix permissions on the files include read for

FastCGI on IIS
Has anyone tried using Rails (or PHP or whatever) on IIS lately? There is a FastCGI extention for IIS 5.1 and 6.0 [1], backported from IIS7 if I understand correctly. I''m curious if anyone thinks this would work in production and give Rails a decent inroad for IIS-based shops. It seems to perform [2] but I would like some verification from the community at large before I mention the

R web interfaces for windows IIS
Hi folks, can anyone point me to an R add-on package that will work with the MS-windows IIS server as is? I know from trying that the "CGIwithR" package was not written with IIS in mind. I'm hoping to find package that will work with IIS without having to do any deep magic. much obliged :-) - revansx

ruby on rails and Micro$oft environment support - IIS & ms sql
Hi everybody At work we''ve finally convinced the chief to develop some small project using open source technology. Unfortunately we are deeply involved with Micro$oft technology. That means, windows 2003 server, IIS, MS SQL 2005 and asp. I was thinking about recommending ruby on rails instead of asp, but I''d like to know how well it goes with IIS and MS SQL, because for the

IIS proxying to lighttpd/apache to mongrel with SSL
This might not be a mongrel question so much as an IIS question, and if so, my apologies. I''m needing to switch a (ASP.NET) web application that''s running behind a firewall appliance on IIS on port 8443 under SSL to a rails web application -- a mongrel instance (and perhaps later apache or lighttpd with new mod_core_prox in front of mongrel) on a different server. I remember

IIS and Samba
Good morning. I am sorry for this newbie question: I am using a samba (3.01) share on a RedHat 9 system, which holds datas and w32 applications for our intranet. Since I develop isapi.dll's , I need to have a running IIS on another machine, and a virtual directory which points to the samba share, where Dll's and databases are stored. On creating the virtual directory, I am asked with which

Hello, I recently upgraded from samba 1.9.18 to 2.04b and now have a strange problem. My setup: - Linux 2.2.7 with samba 2.04b (not domain controller) - NT 4sp3 (domain controler) with IIS 4 From the NT I can browse shares on the Linux server without any problem, everything works as exepected. Error IIS
HI! The strange thing is that the problem (error in the logs) only runs when the authentication trigger comes from IIS .... Not the problem in DC, authentication via Windows machines or Winbind (other servers) all working. What procedures do you want to help? Do we procdir some data loss or something? Which procedure to open the bug? Thank you. On 29-05-2018 01:08, Andrew Bartlett wrote:

SSO with IIS?
I have a customer that I''m developing a solution for on RoR. They have IIS today and use Sharepoint for their intranet. Is it possible to have some kind of single sign-on between these systems? So when a user is logged in to ther Sharepoint she will also be logged in to my rails-app? We haven''t decided yet on what to deploy rails on so I''m open to suggestions... If we

Maximum number of LANMAN Work Items and concurrent connections from IIS 6.0 to Samba
Hey there folks!! I have a question about the maximum number of LANMAN Work Items and concurrent connections from IIS 6.0 to Samba. We have a server for shared windows webhosting running Windows 2003 with IIS 6.0 (with ASP.NET 2.0) connecting to debian 3.1 with Samba 3.0.22 (functioning as a fileserver). At this moment there are about 250 sites running on this server. Now when we make a request

Running IIS under WINE
Hi All -- Has anyone attempted to run IIS under WINE? I realized that one of the biggest things holding me back from moving to Linux is working on IIS-based ASP applications. I would never expect to use such a setup in production, only for development. I am aware that there are various ways to get ASP to run on Linux, but I'm not interested in that. How about Personal Web Server? How

authenticating IIS 6.0 against samba?
I have a windows 2003 server joined to my domain. I'd like to have IIS 6.0 on the 2k3 server authenticating against samba so that windows sharepoint services can be used. I've tried getting NTLM authentication working following instructions at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/7258232a-5e16-4a83-b76e-11e07c3f2615.mspx?mfr=true but I'm not
