You get this kind of stuff by default with roaming profiles.( ie
user.dat or ntuser.dat ) If you are referring to netscape 4 then just
point the profile to the home directory (mapped to a consistent drive

Help: Multi workgroup
Henrik,
I'm CC'ing this to the main samba mailing list.

A single Samba cannot currently exist in 2 separate domains. What I
would do would be to setup two samba server's on the same machine and
have all the shares listed in a file and for each

Neale,
You'll probably get better help on the main samba list as this is not
directly related to the Samba PDC support.

SWAT Admin help (was RE: Is this list still active?)
Hi..
I'm running Samba 2.0.7 on a RH 6.0 box...
Now, this box is using NIS for authentication, such that I have no entry in
the passwd file, but show up with a `ypcat passwd`.
I have made a group called 'swat' and have added myself to it, such that
doing a `groups wkim` lists swat as one of my groups.
I then `chgrp swat smb.conf` and `chmod 664 smb.conf`.
Yet, if I try to access

response to Luke's Letter [part I]
Folks,
As a member of the Samba Team, I want to add a few
quick comments and I'll follow up later with more details.
1) The Samba code has not forked. Don't
believe any rumors people posted to the
mailing lists. Rest easy.
2) There is no dissension among members of
the Samba Team. Luke's letter was his
own and as all members of the team
he is free to move one to other

I will get a smbd process started. (If this is incorrect please let me know
;)
But this morning I did a quick ps -ax on my machine and found *two* smbd -D
in the process list. But as far as I know there is no connection to the
samba server right now.
I did connect to and disconnect from the server yesterday but I would think
that that connection would have been released by now.
Can anyone

Are you using wins?
Try lmhosts for the start?
Are all machines on the same subnet?
Just a few hints to start with ...

connect to it - wait about 2 minutes and then get 'network is busy' message.
I suspect that my problems may lie somewhere in the multiple domains /
subnetting areas, but I can't see where.
Any comments will be welcome. TIA
