The aphid package for analysis with profile hidden Markov models
Hi folks, I'm pleased to introduce a new package called ?aphid?, for analysis with profile hidden Markov models in R. The package contains functions for multiple and pairwise sequence alignment for both nucleic acids and proteins (preferably in the DNAbin or AAbin format), model building, parameter optimization (Baum Welch and Viterbi training), plotting, file import & export,

Multiple interfaces
I have tried to set up Samba on my Solaris 2.5.1 with 2 interfaces (le0, le0:1 - one network card with two IP addresses). But all I could see is throught the default ports 137 and 139. In my /etc/inetd.conf, I have: netbios-ns dgram udp wait root /opt/samba/bin/nmbd nmbd -s/opt/samba/lib/kes.smb.conf netbios-ssn stream tcp nowait root /opt/samba/bin/smbd smbd -s/opt/samba/lib/kes.smb.conf

Installation globbers ssh_prng_cmds
Gidday, I've just tried installing openssh-2.2.0p1 and found that it globbers my ssh_prng_cmds file which has been customised from the normally installed one. On BSDi 4.0.1 it doesn't detect enough commands for ssh-keygen to be happy. Most of the commands do actually exist, but I have to specify where they are. Could someone please modify the installation scripts to either backup this

Bug#753358:
I can confirm that I'm also seeing this issue with DRBD backed block devices. A test dom0 pair that I've just dist upgraded from Wheezy to Jessie is no longer able to boot any domUs via pygrub. As a test I've just pulled pygrub out of xen-tools-4.5 from experimental but I'm still getting the same error in the bootloader.log: ---- Traceback (most recent call last): File

RNGkind() state (PR#12567)
I sent this to R-devel early last month, but have received no response, so I guess it really is a bug. This looks like a bug to me, and is a bit hard to describe, but easy to reproduce. ? Basically, if RNGkind is saved as something other than the default, and if the first operation in a session is a set.seed(), the default is reverted to. ?Reproduce by: cafe-rozo> ?R --vanilla R version

GPU packages and 'Debian R Policy'
Hi there, Moving this request for info over from an R-HPC-SIG list thread as the issue is less HPC than something that has bitten me as a result of trying to install HPC (read CUDA) R packages. Background to this is that I have both a Ubuntu host for a Tesla card that some researchers are looking to do CUDA-related R computation on, and a prototype, RHEL-based, cluster that is being used to

Quintum Tenor AX and Echo
Let's try this again. I have a Quintum AX Tenor gateway sending calls to Asterisk from BT analogue lines connected to FXO. The agents hear an echo on their side but incoming callers hear the conversation fine. I can't seem to find the problem. Anyone seen this issue before? <p style="margin: 0; padding: 0; border-collapse: collapse; font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Sans-Serif;

Re: URGENT: OCFS2 hang - 32 node cluster POC
Run: # top # vmstat 1 # iostat -x /dev/emcpowerb 1 The latter two you can save to a file. For top, just monitor cpu usage and see if any process is hogging all of it. tab complete for R under ESS
> System info: > R Version 1.4.1 (2002-01-30) on Windows 2000 > ESS v. 5.1.20 using emacs ver. 21.1.1 Colleagues Some time ago I asked about tab complete functionality for R under ESS on windows. I never got it working as well as I might have liked until today. It is still slow the first time while all the environments are checked but after that it works well. The solution below

In factor analysis in the psych package, how can I work out which factors the columns in $scores relate to? How do I know what each of the scores is scoring?
Hi I have used fa() to perform a factor analysis of a psychological battery which is thought to have 11 factors. I can identify which factors the loadings relate to easily enough because I can see which items are loading onto each of the columns in the $loading output. However, how can I identify which items or loadings are being used to create each of the columns in the $scores output? I have
