Problem with NT account locking
Hi,
we're running Samba 2.0.05beta on a Linux 2.0.36 box. We have problems
with authentification. Samba is running in security-mode 'SERVER'. About
20 users access this server. As a PDC we have NT 4.0 SP4.
Sometimes the PDC rejected the password:

performance problems with applications
Hi,
I'm using SAMBA 2.0.0 an a Linux Box 2.0.36 P133/128MB 100MBit Ethernet
in an NT Domain with an NT PDC and NT Workstation Clients (SP4) 10 MBit

long time (18 sec). The Application EXE file is

Problems with installation
Hi,
I am new with Samba, so excuse my primitive questions.
I just started installing Samba on an SGI origin unsing IRIX 6.4. with
windows NT workstations.
I was following the UNIX_INSTALL.txt file and I got blocked and step 4
where I should test my "smb.conf" file with the executable "testparm".
After I installed Samba by first doing make, then make install... I took

acl flag to limit imap_acl based acl changes
Hi all!
I have tried the imap_acl plugin with 1.2.9 today, but was not able to limit
acl changes for those mailboxes where acl changes should be forbidden.
http://wiki.dovecot.org/ACL says that "a" or "admin" covers "Administration
rights to the mailbox". However, removing "a" from owner acl (using "lr")
does not help, the user can still

login on homes share despite available = no
Hi!
Today I found that a user can successfully login on a homes share despite
that share should be disabled.
To quote smb.conf(1):
available (S)
This parameter lets you "turn off" a service. If avail-
able = no, then ALL attempts to connect to the service
will fail. Such failures are logged.
However, see the following:

Remote file deletion
I've a particular situation in which I need to sometimes
delete one or two files from a remote site. I haven't
figured out a way to do it with rsync yet... I've considered
playing games with --exclude and --delete but I'm a bit
nervous of the chances of mayhem by a simple error.
Situation is a remote repository to which files are
added on occasion; there is no local copy. On

Return error instead of dying on time back skip?
Hello everybody!
Currently, dovecot just kills itself if it detects that time has moved
backwards more than a hardcoded number of seconds. I accept the
reasons, but I do not like to restart dovecot manually after waiting
for time to move forward again. A cron job would not help, because
time might still be wrong when it restarts dovecot.
All our systems run ntpd, but they might be offline

One host for forwarding only without keys
If you're using StrictSubnets, you will still be fine. StrictSubnets means
that A will only use B's key (which C does not know) to send packets to B's
statically configured subnets. C cannot impersonate B (as in, take its node
name) because it would have to know B's private key to do so, and it cannot
impersonate B's subnets because A is using StrictSubnets. The worst that C

Inconsistent Mailbox with Eudora as POP3 client
Hello everyone,
one of our customers using
QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Version 7.1.0.9
as POP3 client with Dovecot 1.0.0 under Linux using Maildirs reports
that on various accounts they get occasional "inconsistent mailbox"
errors at quit.
The same Docevot binary in the same environment on other servers works
fine for several other customers and ourselves. We use Postfix 2.2

If somebody breaks into C, he could get access to the vpn network, right?
Because the keys are there, it will be possible to use them to get access.

C will still need keys in order to establish metaconnections with A and B
(as well as a few other things). However there is no need for C to own any
"Subnets" at all.

Reload subnet config with HUP signal
Hi,
I need to re-open the thread blow. The situation is still the same.
The HUP signal does not trigger reloading of subnet declarations in own
hosts file (Version 1.0.35).
After a quick view to the source code, file src/net.c shows in line 658
would reload subnets when using StrictSubnets only.
But why? With StrictSubnets it doesn't make sense to me.
I did a quick check and removed the

Auto-blacklisting hosts after too many failed logins
Hi folks,
first of all thanks for Dovecot, I appreciate it a lot.
On one of our servers, we experience regular tries to brute force
logins, probably based on harvested mail addresses. Now I wonder if
dovecot has or could in future have some mechanism to blacklist
remote IP addresses after a configurable number of failures to login
to any account.
Blacklisted IPs could simply be disconnected

Problems with Eicon Diva V-4BRI - 2nd Port
Hey guys
This is probably for Armin, but I thought maybe someone else might have
something I could try. I'm having a problem with one of my Eicon Diva
V-4BRI cards and I'm trying to work out if its a driver configuration
error, card failure or telco problem:
I have an Asterisk box running -- the Eicon drivers see all four ports
on my card, capi.conf is configured with all four ports

[LLVMdev] [ LLI / MCJIT] re-initializing of lli ...
Hi Armin,
Argument parsing isn't handled by the JIT. This sounds like you're making
redundant calls to cl::ParseCommandLineOptions ?
Deleting the ExecutionEngine and any RTDyldMemoryManager instances that
you've created should be enough to reset the JIT.
Cheers,
Lang.
