2.0.0 binaries for SCO available
Hello. I have put a complete tar of /usr/local/samba containing working binaries etc for at least SCO OS 5 at ftp.sdc.com.au/pub/SCO_Samba. Binaries for swat are included and work well on my system. The tar has been compressed with gzip but is still 3,310,694 bytes. gzip/gunzip for SCO is in the same directory. Thanks to the Samba team for fixing the last known hassles with the SCO build.

Can't get Thunderbird 2 to delete a folder under mdbox (Dovecot 2.0beta5) I have built Dovecot 2.0 and installed it under "/opt/dovecot2". I have done the minimum configurations necesary to get it to work with SSL, systems users but with a secondary password database, and set up mail location as "mdbox:~/dbox". Windows VBSscript and test.sh execution in /tmp/public in AIX 5.3
Hello, I am having a very speific problem with my samba interface. We just migrated to a new IBM pSeries server with AIX 5.3. The older server was a RS6000, with AIX 5.2 and everything I'm about to describe below worked without fail. We have a Windows 2000 Server that runs IIS. There is a web-based program (programmed in VB Script) that calls test.sh AIX script (through samba) on our AIX

Case changes when overwriting existing files
Hi, I'm using precompiled (for SCO OS5) 2.0.3. When my Win95 clients save a file to a share that already has a file of the same name samba upcases it. To be completely accurate the files in question have numbers as thier first 8 chars then an extension of .mtr. So, 19991115.mtr on Win95, when copied, becomes 19991115.MTR on the share if it's overwiting a file called 19991115.mtr that

Compile problem with 2.2.2 with SCO OpenServer 506 after rs506a installed
I never have had a problem compiling Samba until 2.2.2 after installing a SCO patch 506a on OpenServer 5.0.6. I noticed the following message when running configure that does not normally appear: WARNING: No automated network interface determination make output: Using FLAGS = -O -Iinclude -I./include -I./ubiqx -I./smbwrapper -DLOGFILEBASE ="/usr/local/samba/var"

'make' fails on SCO OpenServer 5.0.5
Hi folks, I'm trying to install OpenSSH 2.3.0 on a SCO OpenServer Release 3.2 v.5.0.5 box. I downloaded the tarball from the 'portable' directory and uncompressed. ./configure --with-egd-pool=/dev/random <-- works with no errors. Output attached here: (See attached file: output.txt) make displays: root:/tmp/OpenSSH/openssh-2.3.0p1 # make cc -g -I. -I.

What is in your PATH definition when running the samba configure?
It seems that the rest of the world is able to get past the configure step in samba 2.2.5, but I get an error (I didn't have this problem when I compiled samba 2.2.2 or 2.2.3a, so it leaves me rather stumped). ./configure --prefix=/usr/samba --with-winbind --with-automount gives me the following error on both solaris and irix: checking for conflicting AUTH_ERROR define in rpc/rpc.h

mdbox: What format is the file "storage/dovecot.map.index" in? (Dovecot 2.0beta5)
I am looking at "mdbox" under Dovecot 2.0beta5. Looking at the documentation for "mdbox" I saw that we had a directory "storage" containing files "m.#" where "#" is an integer and a map file ("dovecot.map.index"). I think I expected the map file to be a plain text file with one record per line, but in fact it appears to contain

Accessing Samba shares via PPP links
Hello all. I am sure that this is an FAQ but I cannot find a succinct answer anywhere. My question is: What is the correct way to access a Samba share when the Samba server has a private IP adress (eg 192.168.x.y), the (Windows via PPP) client is assigned a relevant private address (eg 192.168.x.z) and the username/password used to login to the client is not known to the server and/or is
