How to see the implementation of print function for a class from a package?
Dear R-helpers,
I want to see the code used when printing (using print(object) or by just
typing the object name) for a class from a package.
I can see the summary code using packagename::summary.classname but nothing
for print method and also plot methods.
In general, how can I see the COMPLETE code for a package? not just the
function defs?

Correct Localized Numbers on Plots, related to glibc!
Dear R Helpers,
I want to localize my plots, i.e. the numbers by x & y axis be
Persian, using Persian numerals and Persian decimal separator. I
change the locale to fa_IR.utf8, but nothing on plots change. I can
change the numerals shaping to Persian ones (???? instead of 1234)
using some non-standard fonts but the decimal point is a problem. I
asked about that in Persian-Computing mailing

RH init scripts busted ?
Hi,
I''m just getting started with puppet, and using the RPMS provided
(on CentOS 4.3), and RedHat''s killproc is annoying me again.
The process is called ''ruby'' instead of ''puppetmasterd''.

So, service puppetmaster

Count objects and print it into a new variable
Hello,
I used R a year ago. With the data I am working with now, I realized that I
need to go back to R. Unfortunately, my memory is not my friend if it comes
down to coding :-)
What I want to do is extract the length of a variable of a file with certain
conditions and then print this number in a new variable..
My file (yukon), contains information about fires in the Yukon Territory,

group name length limit?
I am using samba 3.07 with winbind in AD. I have some long group names
(30 char or more, includes spaces). And I noticed users get access
denied for those groups. Is there a limit on group name length?
Thanks.

Using Scalar Evolution to Identify Expressions Evolving in terms of Loop induction variables
Hi Hashim,
Scalar evolution determines evolution of scalar in terms of expression
chain driving it.
Try dumping the detailed log using opt -analyze -scalar-evolution <.ll> -S
, and look for LoopDispositions
corresponding to different expression which shows variance characteristics
of a particular expression w.r.t
loop i.e. [computable/variant/invariant].
Thanks

Hi there,
I have a data.frame (pwt6) which I would like to transform:
country year gdp
MEX 1950 2
MEX 1951 5
BOL 1950 4
BOL 1951 12
ITA 1950 45
ITA 1951 2
This should be the result:
year MEX.gdp BOL.gdp ITA.gdp

1951 5 12 2
Right now I have this code (better - no code):
country.label<-names(table(pwt6$country))
result<-data.frame(year=NULL)
for(i in country.label)

How can I calculate conditional mean in a large dataset including date data
Dear R users,
I have a dataframe with two columns: first column is date data (e.g.
1/1/2000 with character format: daily data from 1/1/1970 till 31/12/2003)
and second column is temperature value. Now I'd like to calculate mean for
each month in a year (i.e. May 2001, June 1997) and mean for each month in
all of years. As the number of days in some months is different from others
I could
