Hi all. I?m using the binary distribution of SAMBA 1.9.16 on SCO3.2v4.2. Last weekend we got a new server. Installed all applications and all worked fine (as expected) ... but: the win/nt clients could map the shares, but they could not browse the SAMBA-box! Hi, I am using Samba 1.9.18. The server is running on Solaris 2.5.1 and the client is on Win NT 4.0 I am annoyed by the Control-M characters appearing in text files when the files are edited on Windows editors and viewed in vi on Sun machine. I had to manually remove the Control-M characters. Is there a way to eliminate the Control M characters ? Thanks Krishna

Hello all, I have a RedHat 5.1 system running SAMBA and the machines and users log on properly but no one can select, create, delete or do anything with subdirectories. i'm looking for an answer to the problem WIN98/samba-connection. It shows the same failure as shown by WinNT unless the change of Registry to EnablePlainPasswd. We did some testing here today with connecting to the share from an NT box, where we connect to \\relay\marc as marc when log'd in as a seperate user...NT refuses to allow it. Is there a bug with the server that, using smbclient from Linux, allows you to connect to any share without a password? Can someone test this and see if its a local problem or not?
