sig11 with test36/37 on some emails
Sometimes I'll get an email from a luser which will cause the POP3 daemon to sig11. The email "appears" to be legal. The sig11s only happen on specific emails, and once I remove the emails from the server, the rest can be downloaded. I gzipped the email, and its at http://theapt.org/bogusemail.gz. While this example is international spam, the sig11s happen with real emails too.

Sig11 and some corrupted indexes after 1.0-stable -> 1.0.alpha1
I just upgraded my production box from 1.0-stable to 1.0.alpha1. sig11 with 1.0.beta3 on openbsd-i386
i recently helped a friend of mine migrate from imap-uw using mboxes to dovecot on top of Maildirs and came up against two issues. this is quite embarrassing as ive been claiming dovecot is Solid As A Rock(tm) and hasn't ever given me any issues. 1. if dovecot runs out of file descriptors it will loop forever trying to open new logging pipes. the code in question is at line 624 of

1.1r1: auth-worker(default): BUG: PASSV had missing parameters, sig11
I don't know how this happened. I'm not sure if there is a coredump somewhere because I don't know what user, and I have nothing for 'root' or 'dovecot'. Any advice, or should I make all my coredumps go to a central writable directory so I have better chance of catching it if it happens again? Is it maybe from someone connecting to postfix and causing a SMTP-AUTH

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Test failures
Hi all, I experienced some test failures under Linux, probably caused by r232936: In the test SanitizerCommon-Unit :: Sanitizer-i386-Test/MemoryMappingLayout.CodeRange the temporary test file was opened write-only, but was read from, what subsequently failed: Note: Google Test filter = MemoryMappingLayout.CodeRange [==========] Running 1 test from 1 test case. sig11 in 1.1rc5 fts
This happened from one user near noon on the 17th and 19th (today) of this month. From the backtrace it looks like they were searching, but I won't know for sure unless I need to ask them. Is this possibly fixed already? I just haven't upgraded dovecot in a while due to lack of problems. The sig11 happened a few dozen times, a few seconds apart each day. I have one coredump from

Hello. When trying to sort a folder by thread (with pine4.61), I get a sig11. The mailstore is Maildir, indexes stored in /var/indexes/%u. cvs pserver sig11 on 4.8-R
Hi all, We recently moved our CVS repository from a 4.6-STABLE machine to a brand new 4.8 install, on another identical machine. The server runs cvs in 'pserver' mode, for remote access by various Windows/Solaris/Linux/FreeBSD clients. We pretty soon noticed that the cvs server process was occasionally crashing on sig11 (ie. a segfault). The only evidence for this was in the message

Patch for 2.0.0beta2-1.src.rpm on Mandrake
Damien, I had to apply the following simple patch for the openssh-2.0.0beta2-1.src.rpm package to build on my Mandrake Linux system (see below for patch). Basically, Mandrake auto compresses man pages in the build sequence (appending a .bz2 extension), so I had to change the %files sections to find the compressed man pages. By using wildcards, I expect that this patch will NOT break the

Dissapearence of samba servers.
We have a LAN network consisting mostly of Win95 machines, with a couple of NT boxes and 3 Linux-based Samba servers. Throw in a VAX running Pathworks and a partridge in a pear tree. Anyway, it seems that since Monday all three of the Samba boxes have dissapeared from the browse lists (from the POV of the Windows users). Typing in \\server only gives a "Network name not found error."

source/client/client.c : redundant calls to getenv()
Another small problem in 2.0.0beta2: around line 1968, getenv() is called three times, with the same argument. The glibc manual says the memory zone returned by getenv() may be clobbered on non-glibc systems by other calls to getenv(), but there are no such calls in-between. I suggest to modify this code as : line 1924 : char *p, *user; line 1968 : if ((user=getenv("USER")) {

need help with CVS tree updates
Hi, Can someone explain how to use CVS to keep in sync with samba updates? I tried following the CVS_ACCESS.txt file, but it always seems to be behind the "current" release of samba. For example, right now if I do cvs -d :pserver:cvs@samba.org:/cvsroot login cvs -d :pserver:cvs@samba.org:/cvsroot co samba I end up with 2.0.0beta1. But 2.0.0beta2 has already been released.

Samba performance Issues v/s NT
Hi, We are doing benchmarking for samba-2.0.0beta2 on Red Hat Linux 5.0 and have noticed the following differences when compared to NT 4.0. A typical query to Samba is faster than NT when there is only one user accessing the share. But when the no. of users is increased to two, NT performs better than samba. Time taken by Samba is 2 times than that of NT when there are 2 users. We have not

Solaris 2.4 and 2.0.6: socket ?
