Samba share is not writeable
I am having difficulty with Windows shares mounted with smb on my linux machine. The mount directory will not have write permissions for anyone, no matter what. The mount directory that I use is /home/samba. It has 0700, or drwx------ permissions when it is not connected to Samba. It is owned by the user jhall, and the group root. When I mount it, if I use dmask 0777, I get dr-xr-xr-x. If I use

explorer.exe crashes on security tab access
The same thing happen if the group on a file is wheel or any other unix group. I also now observed that this also happens to unix users that are not mapped in idmap.ldb. For example: # useradd myunixuser # touch myfile # chown myunixuser myfile # chgrp SAMDOM\sambauser myfile alos crashes explorer. / Kacper On Thu, Aug 16, 2018 at 8:55 PM, Rowland Penny via samba < samba at

explorer.exe crashes on security tab access
Clearly this is some kind of bug. Can you submit a bug report or should I? Also can you elaborate why it's bad practice to create files/folders as a local Unix user/group on a Samba DC? Problem with Renaming R object
Hi, I have a problem in renaming R object and saving them within a loop. For ex: for (i in 1:length(all_files)) { uncov_GR <- "variable created in loop" filename <- paste0(sample_name[[i]],"_uncov", ".Rdata")) save(uncov_GR,file=filename) } Within the above short code (out of a long program), I want to

error starting SJava: classpath
Dear R experts, Sorry, I am resending this, since I have not received this mail myself for the past 5 hours. I saw a similar question dated July 2. But there is no answer to it. Does anybody have a solution to it? I am using window NT, and the R version is 1.5.1, the SJava package is the binary version SJavaWin_0.62-8.zip. Here are the error message: > library(SJava) > .JavaInit()

[LLVMdev] runtime optimizations in LLVM
Hello, (im new to LLVM , so pl excuse if this is a naive q). Can someone provide info on what runtime optimizations are done in LLVM? do you have something along lines of JVM's hotspot feature? How efficient is the optimized code vis-a-vis native code? thanks -kamal ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing.

FreeBSD and Winbind
I'm hoping this is an easy question, but the way my day has gone I seriously doubt it is going to be. Today, I installed Samba 3.0.24 with winbind support on my FreeBSD 6.2 server. I am able to join my domain and get information concerning groups and passwords from the domain controller (Windows 2003) without any problem. Where I have run into a problem is using getent to get a copy of the

winbind uid problem
I have installed winbind and it is working, but I need to change the uid/gid being used by winbind since I am running into some conflicts with UIDs. UID 10071 is being used by my spamfilter and winbindd is also mapping one of the user IDs from the W2K3 server to 10071. In an attempt to change this, I modified my smb.conf file as follows. [global] workgroup = MO idmap gid =

[LLVMdev] Code analysis
Hi All, I think , I was unclear in my last post. I am looking for source code analysis of a program, something similar to what SUIF does. Consider a simple example of Matrix addition A[i][j]+=B[i][j]; I want to know how matrix A is accessed, like whether it is A[i][j] in this case or A[j][i]. Is there anyway in llvm to write a pass to identify this? Can someone give pointers to it? Regards,
