samba3: need to wait 3 minutes before login
Hi, at our local computer pool in the school we've a samba3 server and about 40 winnt-4.0 workstations. the main problem is, that the workstations have to wait for about 3 minutes after they started, before a user can login. in other words: the computer starts and if you try to login then immediatly you'll get "domain manos not available" or something like this. but if you wait

Crash in v1.2.3: istream.c: assertion failed on line 99
Hi, I have a couple of people bumping into an issue with their imap process crashing - from the users perspective, their mail client (thunderbird) just stops recieving new mail. It still seems to be possible for them to read their mail using squirell mail. When it crashes, it leaves behind a log message like this on the server: Aug 12 15:52:25 fury dovecot: imap-login: Login:

Graphical table in R
I would like R to produce some tabulated data in a graphical output. When I say tabulated data, what I mean is a table with rows and columns. This would be useful when reading in a big file, performing some analysis on it, and then wanting to display the results as a table. Something like plot(x,...) where x is a matrix For example, the result could look (approximatly) like...

[Off Topic] humour, XMAS, ground loop - good business strategy
hi, I received this e-mail which contains a "ballad", at first I thought it was junk mail, but then I read through it, for the EE members of this list, it may be quite humorous. I don't know if the ballad is original, but at least it's the XMAS season, so it's something to lighten up your day, eh? -samudra """ How the Ground Loop Stole Christmas

solving equation system
Hello, I want to solve some two dimensional equation system with R. Some systems are not solvable analytically. Here is an example: (I) 1/n*sum{from_i=1_to_n}(Xi) = ln lambda + digamma(c) (II) mean(X) = x / lambda I want to find lambda and c, which R-function could do that task? TDM2400P FXS Only vs. T1/E1 to FXS Channel Banks
Hello All, I'm looking to get some feedback on which solution of providing FXS is going to have the best results with faxing. I'm only looking to see what method is going to provide the best digitization into Asterisk, not for transmission from Asterisk to else where. Any recommendations of specific channel banks are welcome. I will need to provide approximatly 216 FXS Ports and need

[PATCH] ocfs2: Provide the ocfs2_dlm_lvb_valid() stack API.
The Lock Value Block (LVB) of a DLM lock can be lost when nodes die and the DLM cannot reconstruct its state. Clients of the DLM need to know this. ocfs2's internal DLM, o2dlm, explicitly zeroes out the LVB when it loses track of the state. This is not a standard behavior, but ocfs2 has always relied on it. Thus, an o2dlm LVB is always "valid". ocfs2 now supports both o2dlm and

Samba PDF
Got a very weird Problem. I have two servers at my church one, is the primary server and two is the back up server. First off both one and two are the same o/s Mandrake 8.2 and samba is set up the same way. Matter of fact the smb.conf is a direct copy. I am keeping two seperate user/password files. On the backup server (two) I can log on any user from win95,98 2000 NO problem. On the Primary

Problem with reproducing log likelihood estimated with ghyp package
I was playing around with the ghyp package and simulated series of t-distributed variables when suddenly i was not able to reproduce the log likelihood values reported by the package. When trying to reproduce the likelihood values, I summed the log(dt(x,v)) values and it worked with some simulated series but not all. Is there any obvious flaws with this script? library("ghyp")

R, OSX, should creating SVGs request XQuartz
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 hi, on OS X, when you try and use something which depends on X11, and you don't have XQuartz installed, you receive an error message, it directs you to download XQuartz, and then it euthanizes your process. (my guess is that there is a skeleton X11 dylib installed in OS X by default, and it is responsible for the error message and the
