WIN 98 password problem
Hi! I'm new on the list, so please, be patient with me! I have a problem for wich I can't find the answer in the FAQ. Until recently I was running a 16 PC-s network with SCO OpenServer 5.0.4 and Samba 1.9.16p11 on the server and mixed clients (Win 3.11 to Win 95 OSR2). The users on the network have access to a PUBLIC directory on they own user directories on the server without

how to setup a simplest travel-mode read-only IMAP
Hi All, I don't use gmail/hotmail etc... I have been a Mozilla/SeaMonkey/Thunderbird user for ever now... The mail and folders are all on my private fileserver. But on certain tours, I do know in advance that I would like IMAP access to my mail folders. Nothing but the simplest read-only access to the years of accumulated email. (All that email was soft-mounted onto /mnt/mail for safety and

SAMBA 1.9.18p10 problem
I have been using Samba 1.9.18p8 in a Solaris 2.6 machine for months but suddenly this week there is a problem. Nothing's changed. I have some persistent connection of my NTSP3 client to the samba share. When I login as usual, it fails to mount the drive. It either prompt for password but whatever password the samba rejects, or give a "Access is Denied" when you try to access the

Problem with "--relative" and symlinks
There appears to be a problem with the handling of symlinks within source directories by the --relative (-R) option. I am using rsync 2.5.5 on an SGI Origin 200 running IRIX 6.5.11f. Example: copying the contents of /usr/local/etc/inhouse/db/ from wolf to fox where /usr/local is a directory on wolf, but /usr/local is a link to /usr2/local on fox. Here's the dry-run output (some

Samba 3.0.x infrastructure
I've been batting my head against a wall trying to come up with a solution to what seems to be a trivial problem and I need a really good answer. We have 3 Samba 2.2.8a DC's. We want to keep 3 DC's when we go to Samba 3, but want the same password for text username regardless of the domain being logged into *AND* we want the same RID to uid mapping *AND* we want LDAP for posixAccounts

WINE ASPI support and my Polaroid SprintScan 35 Plus
I recently acquired one of these nice film scanners and have set about getting it to work under Linux+WINE (yes, I know about VueScan, but I need the finer controls offered by Polaroid's software). The last version of Windows I ever ran on my computer was 3.1, and I still have a working installation on a DOS partition. This scanner is old enough that Win3.1 drivers exist, and everything

Problem about SARMA model forcasting
Hello, Guys: I'm from China, my English is poor and I'm new to R. The first message I sent to R help meets some problems, so I send again. Hope that I can get useful suggestions from you warm-hearted guys. Thanks. I builded a multiplicative seasonal ARMA model to a series named "cDownRange". And the order is (1,1)*(0,1)45 The regular AR=1; regular MA=1; seasonal AR=0; seasonal

mangled filenames
Hi all, I'm running Samba 3.0.31_1,1 on FreeBSD 7.0. I have a problem where some files on the fileserver appear to have illegal characters in them and so look mangled-up when viewed over Samba. Here's an example, listing files over Samba: rococo% ls PR Archive Awards ACD76Y~N <-- Inhouse folder AOBC8G~A <-- Outhouse folder Listing the same files directly on the

DNS is confusing! (I really need some help understanding!)
OK, I am confused and DNS is the reason. So, Comcast, 13 public IP's bound to my modem. Each public IP has a DNS name from comcast (they assign it automatically) like: 173.13.167.209 --> 173-13-167-209-sfba.hfc.comcastbusiness.net I created a DNS entry at GoDaddy for 173.13.167.209 that is 'inhouse.theindiecompanyllc.com' When eth0 is alive, I see that it tells me my name

PJSIP Authrentication by IP fails
I have one single endpoint [inhouse](endpoint-basic) type=endpoint and one section like this [indentify] endpoint=inhouse match=X.Z.Y.X But when I call in from IP X.Z.Y.X, it does not match my peer. It tries to send the call the "default" context, and the number is not found. I know that I should have loaded this module, res_pjsip_endpoint_identifier_ip.so and it is loaded. In fact,

win3.1 in wine & suse8.1
I'm new to wine and suse 8.1. I d/l the most current wine version for suse8.1 = 200303.. and rpmed it. I was surprised that wine was not updated with Yast but only directly with rpm.-F ... Does anybody you know why? I had tried it first and it seemed to work but rpm -q showed the same date! I now have doubts on all the other rpm patches/updates ... The win3.1 program is special purpose

extension and PSTN connection
I got two phones on an ATA-186 (601, 602) and two phones on the TDM22B (603, 604). I have two lines on the TDM22B. I cannot figure out some of the problems: 1. 601 dials via ZAP/3-1 to local phone number at PSTN: ringing pickup on PSTN (empty) still ringing in the phone set 601 2. call from PSTN back: 601 picks up ... everything works !!! No caller id shows up 3. For testing I have only one

Random Forest % Variation vs Psuedo-R^2?
Hi all (and Andy!), When running a randomForest run in R, I get the last part of an output (with do.trace=T) that looks like this: 1993 | 0.04606 130.43 | 1994 | 0.04605 130.40 | 1995 | 0.04605 130.43 | 1996 | 0.04605 130.43 | 1997 | 0.04606 130.44 | 1998 | 0.04607 130.47 | 1999 | 0.04606 130.46 | 2000 | 0.04605 130.42 | With the first column representing the

strange apparently data-dependent crash with large data (PR#6955)
I'm consistently seeing R crash with a particular large data set. What's strange is that although the crash seems related to running out of memory, I'm unable to construct a pseudo-random data set of the same size that also causes the crash. Further adding to the strangeness is that the crash only happens if the dataset goes through a save()/load() cycle -- without that, the

Number of Clusters
Dear R users, I am interested in clustering in R. In SAS we have some criteria for determining the number of clusters using the PROC CLUSTER procedure, which are "CCC" cubic clustering criterion (Sarl 1981), Psuedo F (PSF), and Psuedo T square (PST). My question is do thsese criterion exists in R, I tried to search and got one hit (BIC) in Mclust, which I am aware of, any input is
