User Home Folders
Following the "User Home Folders" page on the wiki using Group Policy https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/User_Home_Folders I see this page was last updated in March 2017. Not sure if anything has changed. Although I can access the shares, the %LogonUser% directory does not seem to be automatically generating. Thoughts? Share definition: [users] path = /server/users read only = no

Problems adding a user
I am having problems adding a user. Here is some background: OK this is my first attempt to build a Samba server so be gentle. Operating System: Fedora Core 3 Samba version: 3.0.10-1.fc3 I have set up a Stand-alone server to support my 4 client machines (all WinXP boxes w/o a domain). I had some difficulties getting things to work and eventually traced them down to a Firestarter

fixeme: advapi:LogonUserA "user" "domain" ... - stub
The application's running environment: wine 1.2 ubuntu 10.04 E The application asks for a username and password, then calls the LogonUser() in windows advapi32.dll. to authenticate the user. The UI is displaying, but the authentication always returns true, even if a wrong password is given to the user. Is there any patch I can install to fix it? Thanks, Qing

coding volunteers needed for msrpc server-side API conversion
ok, people, i _really_ need help with this. i estimate that if i work on this full-time it's going to take about... two weeks. i have one volunteer for the samr functions. it's been two days, already, and i'm only half-way through samr. that means, nothing else gets done, and samba-tng current cvs is broken because the _samr_lookup_rids() function goes into an infinite loop on that

Is there a PAM setup for libsmbclient?
I have a working winbind on my Radados server that let's Ubuntu Gutsy workstartions authenticate from the server. I works great. OpenLinux 2.2: LISA install leaves root access without password
Hello, I believe I''ve found a bug in the installation process of OpenLinux 2.2 when using the LISA boot disk. During the installation a temporary passwd file is put on the new file system containing the user "help" set uid=0 gid=0 and no password. Once you are prompted to set the root password and default user password a new passwd and shadow file is created yet the help user
