Forwarded mail....
I was surprised to see that this hadn't made it to the samba list yet.
Note I have not spent any time trying to confirm validity.

Failed to connect NT workstation to Samba2.0alpha8
Hi Folks,
I downloaded Samba2.0alpha8 from Samba site. Compiled it and installed it
on the Solaris 2.6 unix box.
I set up domain logon for both Windows 98 clients and WinNT. There is no
problem logging on from
Windows98 and the shares are all working alright. Then, I followed Samba
NTDOM FAQ and add
the NT workstation name into /etc/passwd and smbpasswd (using smbpasswd -a

Couldn't open status file /var/adm/slh/samba/locks/STATUS..LC K
Gunnar,
Check (ll -d dirname) to make sure that there is at least x permission for
everyone in each directory down the /var/adm/slh/samba/locks path;
also, does the STATUS..LCK file exist in the named directory, and if so what
are the permissions on it?
Hope this helps,
Don

Just-in-time mounts when following symlinks
This mail message follows from several discussions with Luke Leighton.
It's mostly technical in nature but I'm submitting to all mailing
lists anyway (Luke's suggestion).
We have our Samba server running with the Berkeley AMD automounter
(nothing peculiar here). In order for our Samba users to walk the
automount tree, we created a program to create symbolic links from
the local

Problem with extended ACLs in 3.0.4?
I've been using a 2.6.2 that I modified myself to get ACLs as I like.
I'm trying now to get back into the public version of rsync, but am
finding difficulties.
This one seems pretty basic. It's on a CentOS 4.5 machine with rsync rpm
rsync-3.0.4-1.el4.rf and kernel 2.6.9-55.0.2.plus.c4. After the
operation, f1 and f2 should have identical ACLs. They don't.

Winbind/Samba Setup on RHEL 4
I've been through Samba 3 HOWTO and the RedHat Knowledge Base, and can't quite
get everything going with winbind and Samba. Redhat is RHEL Version 3, update

First, the setup:

predicting test dataset response from training dataset with randomForest
Hi
I am new to R so I apologize if this is trivial.
I am trying to predict the resistance or susceptibility of my
sequences to a certain drug with a randomForest function from a file
with amino acids on each of the positions in the protein. I ran the
following:
> library(randomForest)

> path <- "C:\\..."
