Letter case not preserved
All files transferred to my Samba server end up with lower case on the Unix box. Case is not preserved from NT to Unix. For example, if I copy C:\Temp\MyFile to a directory on the Samba server, it ends up there as myfile. What am I missing? I browsed the FAQ's in the web pages, without success... Connecting to Samba through Windows 95
Hi all: I have setup Samba on our Solaris server with user based security (though the usernames on the Solaris box differ from our NT/Win95 usernames). Everything seems to work well when I connect from an NT client (4.0) since it asks for a "connect as" string (username), but on 95, I cannot seem to specify a username (and therefore cannot gain access to the server). Is there anyway

Missing p-values using lmer()
Hello, I’m trying to perform a REML analysis using the lmer() function (lme4 package). Well, it seems to work well, except that I’m not getting any p-value (see example below). Can someone tell me what I did wrong? Thanks for your help, Amélie > library(gdata) > dive <- read.xls("C:/Documents and Settings/Amelie/My Documents/Postdoc/CE 2005-2006/divebydive.xls",

EFI: HP + syslinux = crash [ brown paper bag update ]
Update: I added my debugging stuff (just a bunch of Print()s and dprintf()s) to the branch without the multinic fix to see if I could find a common cause somewhere. This is based on commit 8702009f. Where I expected the machine to crash again, it just exited back to the bootloader without crashing. So.. somehow adding this debug code solved the crashing problem? Or did it? Then I went back

High Load Average on POP/IMAP.
Hi, We have a serious issue running on our POP/IMAP servers these days. The load average of a servers spikes up to 400-500 as a uptime command result, for a particular time period , to be specific mostly in noon time and evening, but it last for few minutes only. We have 2 servers running dovecot 1.1.20 , in loadbanlancer, We have used KEEPLIVE (1.1.13) for loadbalacing. Server

Narrow escape with FAULTED disks
Nothing like a "heart in mouth moment" to shave tears from your life. I rebooted a snv_132 box in perfect heath, and it came back up with two FAULTED disks in the same vdisk group. Everything an hour on Google I found basically said "your data is gone". All 45Tb of it. A postmortem of fmadm showed a single disk failed with smart predictive failure. No indication why the

[LLVMdev] RFC: Reduce the memory footprint of DIEs (and DIEValues)
With just those four patches, memory usage went *up* slightly. Add in the 5th patch (which does #2 below), and we get an overall memory drop of 4%. The intermediate result of a memory increase makes sense. While the first four patches reduce the number of (and size of) `DIEValue` allocations, they increase the cost of the `SmallVector` overhead. 0005 (attached) squeezes the abbreviation data

EFI: HP + syslinux = crash [ brown paper bag update ]

On the other hand, there is no lib*.c32 involved in the case where it would not start to load ldlinux.e64 due to the multinic issue. So... How is it possible that a simple recompile with some debugging turned on, resolved the crashing issue. Unfortunately I can't test

It seems to yield similar results, but may contain errors. Please feel free to comment (kindly) or enhance. I'm sure there are better ways to skin this cat, but we at
