Redhat 5.2, Samba 2.0.3 and Big Tapes
I have recently upgraded to Redhat 5.2 and Samba 2.0.3 and now our
backup is only going so far (uses smbclient to tar to tape) and
reporting no more room on device, I estimate it is hitting the problem
at around 5-6Gb - as its a 25Gb tape and has worked fine on older
versions of redhat/samba I think the tape is ok.
Has any one any ideas or suggestions on what to try ?
Many Thanks

zaphfc and ASUSCOM working in the US
I finally got my ASUSCOM (Cologne chip) ISDNLink card working here in
the US.
When a call arrives, I get "Unknown IE 42 (Unknown Information Element)"
and "Unknown IE 21 (Unknown Information Element)".
IE 21 (0x15) is defined as Q931_CALL_STATE_SUSPEND_REQUEST. IE 42
(0x2a) is not defined in the code and I couldn't google it.
Is this something perculiar with ISDN in

Getting 'Access Denied' under Offline mode (Offline Files)
Hi team,
Hoping someone from the community would be able to help.
Samba version *: 4.19.5*
OS *: Ubuntu 24.04*
We have a perculiar situation where users are getting /Access Denied/ on
their roaming user profiles. These profiles are redirected using Windows
GPOs with Offline Files enabled. We could replicate these on several
instances that we manage.
On version 4.15.13, when 'Offline

What shares are mounted on client ?
Is there anyway to ascertain what shares a client actually has mounted at a
given time?
I've got a number of WFW boxes connecting shared drives on my SCO-OSE3 box
using SAMBA 1.9.16p5 (upgrading to latest version RSN).
I've got some shell scripts on the Unix box which use escape sequences sent to
the client telnet to start programs on the client side. Some of these programs

Re: aec
I wasn't implying that anyone do anything about it, just that's it a real
problem. Unfortunately, most of the crappy sound cards are the ones that
ship with your typical PC, so it's just something that people should be
aware of.
The solution is pretty straightforward -- just resample the audio data in
real time using a reference clock.

Re: aec
This is a very real problem though.. I've encountered many sound cards that
use different clocks for input and output (even on the same card!) Also, if
you open up a sound device on windows at 8kHz, the microphone is often
around 8100Hz, while the output is 8000Hz.. I'm not sure if there's a bug
somewhere in some of the OS resampling algorithms, but I've seen that on
many machines.

openssh-2.1.1p4 and sco 5.0.5
Hi folks,
just I installed openssh 2.1.1p4 on a sco OpenServer 5.0.5 machine and it works fine. The only problem I have is the X11 forwarding. I have allowed this feature in the /etc/sshd_config and the /etc/ssh_config, respectively and the /usr/bin/X11/xauth program was in the PATH during compilation.
As you can see in the logfile the sco system enables the X11 forwarding and sets the DISPLAY

RE: [GIT/PATCH 0/5] Re: unfair servicing of DomU vbd requests
Hi James.
I go through the patch, since all its changes happens inside __xen_evtchn_do_upcall(),
so I apply the patch into my 2.6.31.kernel by manual. (I was failed to merge a usable,
2.6.38dom0, since quite a lot branch needed, such as blkback, netback)
But still, the blue screen shows up. Log attached.
Is the timeout better than before?
Beside, I think I need find some to examine my

Hi,
As far as I know there are no problems with running Samba on a SCO system,
beside the normal Samba configuration problems.

Here is a problem which I hope someone can help me out on. We have three

I can run every test in DIAGNOSI.txt except for number 2. That is, the WIN'95
box can not ping the SCO box within a reasonable amount of time.
(SCO can ping the WIN'95 box fine). For the longest time I thought the WIN'95
box couldn't ping the SCO box but I
