Problem with smbpasswd
Hi all, I've just set up password encryption using 1.9.18p4. I compiled with NO ALLOW_CHANGE_PASSWORD option because compilation didn't work (I'm using HP-UX 10.20). Everything seems to be working correctly instead of a 'normal' user trying to change his (samba-) password using smbpasswd (root can change any password). The messages I receive are as follows: Old SMB password:

Synchonisation between NIS and encrypted SMBPASSWD
Hello, does somebody have a tool to convert a /etc/passwd to a smbpasswd with getting a valid Lan Manager and NT hash. or does anybody have a trick, how I can synchronise the /etc/passwd with the smbpasswd without changing a unix passwd twice (passwd, smbpasswd). Password encryption and older clients ?
Hello Samba-Maintainers/Users, could somebody please let me know whether older clients (i.e. clients with now password encryption) can still connect to SAMBA servers with "encrypt passwords = yes". This is not unclear from the documentation. Thanks very much in advance, Stephen Heilbronner -- _ _ _ _ _ _ STEPHEN HEILBRONNER |\/| |\ | |\/| Institut

glm gives t test sometimes, z test others. Why?
I just ran example(glm) and happened to notice that models based on the Gamma distribution gives a t test, while the Poisson models give a z test. Why? Both are b/s.e., aren't they? I can't find documentation supporting the claim that the distribution is more like t in one case than another, except in the Gaussian case (where it really is t). Aren't all of the others approximations

conf. int. for lm() and Up-arrow
Dear all, Is there any function for calculating confidence limits for coefficients in an lm() object? I know of the confint() function in the MASS library working very well on my binomial GLMs and I have tried it (using glm () , family=gaussian) but it gives NAs according to below. Does the confint() function not accept gaussian GLMs? Could there be convergence problems in the GLM? Note the

Samba 3 dms doesn't allow access through interdomain trust
Hello everyone! I have a little problem: HRH = trusted domain (Samba 3) Hendricks = trusting domain (NT4 sp6a) Trusts are setup between the NT4 and Samba3 + OpenLDAP domain and appear to be working properly. When logged into the HRH domain on a W2k workstation I can view, read, and write on available shares for HRH groups and users on our Windows file servers. Whenever I try to see available

Did you turn off the Firewall ? - I did turn it off on both. It looks like something is getting in the way, either that or something is set up incorrectly. I know you said that you are using Debian, but what version and what version of Samba ? - Debian 12. Samba = 4.17.10-Debian Are you using Bind9 on the DC or the internal dns server ? - I am using internal dns server but I did install bind9
