password is incorrect
Hi , Surprisingly enough , my samba started not mapping previous days,
giving the error "The pasword is incorrect. Try again later" from windows

started checking samba, searching samba faqs and archives . Diagnosis
tests could not clear the situation for
me , so I decided to upgrade to latest version. Still i have the

In place editing on a list - not passing ID through
I want to do in-place edits on a list of data, but I''m having trouble
getting the ID passed through to the controller.
I use this in my view to create the field:
<% for frame in @frames %>
...
<%= in_place_editor_field :frame, :price %>
<% end %>
and this produces the following in my output:
<span class="in_place_editor_field"

X11 XVideo extension supported?
I was wondering if the XVideo extension is supported or not? In a
clean wine setup, I installed DivX 4.01 and The Playa, also installed
Windows Media Player 6.4. They can both display DivX 4.01 material
with sound. This is simply great :-)
However, the performance is not that great. Especially when going
fullscreen the cpu is overburdened (slide show). I assume that the
XVideo extension is not

Palm Hotsync success...
Well, after having given up uppon serial communication from
hotsync.exe to the Palm Vx, I decided to try network communication
instead.
I am able to perform a complete hotsync even with Netscape Calendar
synchronization. I am not doing anything special to make it work but
it is not straight forward, neither.
I start hotsync.exe, configuring it for network access only. Then I
start pi-nredir

[LLVMdev] two quick questions
I have two quick questions
1) It seems that everytime I do an svn up, I can no longer compile lvm (
+ clang ) currently it hangs here
llvm/tools/clang/lib/Serialization/../../include/clang/Serialization/AttrPCHRead.inc:20:31:
error: ‘F’ was not declared in this scope
The only way for me to get it to compile again is a complete fresh check
out of all source files, which is not optimal.
Am I the

wine sound freezes system
I was wondering if anything in wine could crash the system? I believe
not, but I have this problem since I upgraded to kernel 2.4.3: I am
running winamp through wine and usually within one song, the system
freezes. At first I suspected my X server (not sure wether AGP is
enabled or not) so I ran wine/winamp on my machine and displayed on a
windows box using xwin32. I had X locally shut down. The

smbclient feature request
Dear all,
because I don't know if there is some kind of xmessage under Sun's Solaris,
I made a little ksh script which, by now, only notifies me when a filesystem
has reached a certain %-use using smbclient -M.
Because I'm thinking of some other implementations, my question/feature
request: is there any way of putting some other buttons on the notification
window that smbclient

Battle.net problems
I have Starcraft working and would like to know if it is possible to
use the Battle.net multiplay interface? I am using fsgs
(client/server) to redirect battle.net to my own machine. This appears
to work nicely (others can connect, and my local starcraft connects as
well). There are some problems with the graphics, though.
There are no fonts at all, making it very difficult to see what

Trying to debug starcraft.exe I put on --debugmsg trace+all as part of
the wine options:

Wine is cvs version from march 21.
This is the last 20-30 lines from the debug log:

starcraft install wierdness.
I know, Starcraft has been covered much, but I still cannot make
starcraft complete its installation. The installation halts while
adding shortcuts to the start menu. As someone (Ove I believe)
mentioned, Starcraft adds certain registry keys after creating
shortcuts, requiring the installation to continue.
I have modified wineshelllink in order to gain some insight:
#!/bin/sh
echo "$@"

FlasKMPEG 0.60 actually works
I tried FlasKMPEG 0.60 yesterday and it actually works pretty well. I
had to remove the file null.mism.flask as it caused wine to crash
(haven't figured out why). It does not seem to be important.
I could start flaskmpeg.exe, select vob files, select codecs,
everything actually. I also could flask the vob file and it worked
fine (only tried uncompressed sound).
One problem did arise, though.

systray apps invisible
I have a problem with applications residing in systray. The systray is
always invisible, nowhere onscreen to be found. What the app starts I
sometimes see a window showing itself and the immediately disappearing
again. The applikation is running but I cannot access it.
I have to start the app with desktop in order to gain access to the
systray, but that surely cannot be the idea (as I do see

Well heres the story.. I decided to install the newest version of wine (20010326
I believe) I am running wine on a linux partition, and have configured
everything according to the various HOWTOS and FAQ's and other pieces of
Documentation I have read. Starcraft & Starcraft Broodwar installed with no
incident whatsoever. There is one problem however, when I try and install the

Vignette problem and CRAN policies
Hello, All:
The vignette with the sos package used "upquote.sty", required for R
Journal when it was published in 2009. Current CRAN policy disallows
"upquote.sty", and I've so far not found a way to pass "R CMD check"
with sos without upquote.sty.
I changed sos.Rnw per an email exchange with Prof. Ripley without
solving the problem; see below. The
