Weird problem with TimeZone::adjust and TimeZone::unadjust. Please help.
I''m not sure I''m understanding this correctly. I have a user model that is for all of my user accounts. Each user account has a time zone. I added this line to automatically create a TimeZone object for that user using their timezone: composed_of :tz, :class_name => ''TimeZone'', :mapping => %w(time_zone name) I also changed my environment.rb to

Timezone warnings on package install in R-alpha
Dear all, As of the current R alpha release, I'm seeing timezone-related warnings on installing any package (including the recommended ones), which I haven't seen before. For example, [~/Documents/Source/R-alpha]$ bin/R CMD INSTALL ~/git/tractor/lib/reportr * installing to library '/Users/jon/Documents/Source/R-alpha/library' * installing *source* package 'reportr' ...

Timezone abbreviation question
Is it possible to get timezone abbreviations using the TimeZone or TzinfoTimezone classes? Even after converting UTC to localtime it still reports the timezone abbreviation as UTC. Example: >> @tz = TzinfoTimezone.us_zones[2] => #<TzinfoTimezone:0x30868a0 @utc_offset=-28800, @name="Pacific Time (US & Canada)"> >> @tz.now => Wed Jan 24 12:36:56 UTC 2007

timezone attribute lost during operations
Hi, I was just *highly* surprised to find out that R 2.8.0 (Windows XP) changes the timezone-interpretation during operations on time data, as apparently the timezone attribute is lost and then, for the next interpretation of the timezone, the system settings are used. Here is sample code (executed under a platform with the system timezone managed by Windows set to "CET", but note

Weird (?) ActiveSupport::TimeZone parse behaviour
Hi I must be slipping, but say I have a string that looks like: 3/11/2012 2:50:00 AM If I use the UTC timezone and ask it to parse this time, what would you expect the result to be? Personally, I''d say 3/11/2012 2:50:00 AM UTC Given this is the DST switchover date (for some places) this is an edge case. It''s the "spring forward" rule so 2:50 AM is 3:50... But

TimeZone Help - Finding TimeZone codes
I have looked at ?as.POSIXct ?POSIXct and many of the references that are on those pages. I am bewildered with timezones. Is there a way to get what would go into tz="" for making a function that uses POSIXct to be able to be used in all of the timezones in just the united states? This is for both windows and mac... this is the function that I am wanting to use it with

timezone tests and R-devel
Thank you for the report. In R-devel, all.equal.POSIXt() by default reports inconsistent time zones. Previously, > x <- Sys.time() > all.equal(x, as.POSIXlt(x, tz = "EST5EDT")) would return TRUE. To ignore the time zone attributes in R-devel, the argument 'check.tzone = FALSE' needs to be used. That said, I can reproduce the 'make check' failure in R-devel on

timezone tests and R-devel
So let me try to raise this issue once more, and perhaps be more clear about what I think the issue is.. In my opinion there is now a bug in make check in R-development (tested today with r79361). As I see it, I specify a reasonable TZ environment variable and this leads to make check emitting an error. Best, Kasper On Fri, Oct 2, 2020 at 11:28 AM Kasper Daniel Hansen < kasperdanielhansen

timezone conversion difficulties with the new US daylight saving time switch over
I'm having difficulties with daylight saving times in US time zones. (Apologies for the long post, but the problem seems subtle and complex, unless I'm doing something completely wrong, in which case it should be evident from the first 10 lines below.) This is what I see, using a (slightly modified) example from ?as.POSIXlt : > as.POSIXlt((d <- Sys.time()), "EST5EDT") #

Default wine registry timezone from GMT 0 to GMT -3
Hi, I've installed an app on Wine 1.2 on an Ubuntu 8.04 install. The app works, but takes the timezone from wine registry that it?s set, by default, to a GMT 0, and I need set the tz in wine registry on GMT -3. I wish to know if there is any way to set the timezone (GMT-3) in Wine , so that apps use the correct timezone and time. I can't find where set the TimeZone config in the

Some timezone trouble involving tzinfo and postgresql
Friends, So there I was, minding my own business, trying to make my rails app timezone aware (DST, as well), since it''s all about the timing with this one. There are a number of excellent articles that I''ve been working off of, in particular this one internet archived version of Scott Barron''s very useful article on the subject that is no longer available at the

timezone problems
Hi, Im using R 2.1.1 and running Code that previously worked (on R 2.1.0 I believe) using the 'timeDate' function from the fCalendar package. The code now throws an error: Error in if (Sys.timezone() != "GMT") warning("Set timezone to GMT!") However I have read the documentation of the fCalendar package and I have set my system variable TZ to GMT. I tracked the

timezone attribute lost
Hi, As I didn't get any response on the general help list and I don't know if there is a bug in action I am trying my luck here. I was highly surprised to find out that during simple operations (see code below) the timezone attribute for POSIXct data is lost and then, upon the next interpretation, the system settings are used (which are plain wrong in my case). I have used R 2.8.0
