Dynamic DNS failures with Samba4
Hi,
I've used samba3 for years, and it mostly did exactly what I wanted, In
the last few weeks I decided to install Samba4. I got it installed and
everything seems to be working as expected. I have one small issue, and
I'm not really sure if the problem is Samba4, bind, my client PC or
something else I haven't considered.
I've got one Linux server, which acts as a Samba

[Fwd: mounting as a regular user]
Thank you for the reply Joe.
Which smb.conf files would you want to see? I am trying to mount shares
from 2 FreeBSD, 1 RH9 (linux) and 2 Windows servers to a directory
structure on my system. To give an idea my mount script is as follows
(with some info removed):
# Smeagol (FreeBSD Domain Controler/Profile Server)
#
mount -t smbfs -o username=$user,password=$pass,ro //smeagol/home-dir$

Asterisk to Asterisk via IAX2 Help
Hi,
I have two asterisk machines, chomper and otao.
otao is otao.ieworks.net, has a public IP address (66.101.11.61), but no
PSTN connections.
chomper is at my house, behind NAT, but has a single X100P PSTN connection.
I would like to establish two way calling between otao and chomper.
Right now, I can call my extension on otao (2101) from my x-lite
softphone on chomper, but I cannot call

Unir municipios

Weird password problems
Hello, all..
I'm running into some weird password problems with Samba 2.0.5a.
Here's what I'm *trying* to do.
I have several Linux & Sun boxes that I'd like to share their
resources with various DOS/Win9x PCs. I don't want to have to
maintain password files on each of the these. Currently, the Unix
passwords are shared via NIS, with a SunOS box as the master.

Fíjate, había visto aggregate del paquete raster, pero lo había excluído porque pensaba que trabajaba sólo con imágenes raster... ¡qué cosas! :)
Gracias. Lo miraré.

approx function wierd result
Dear R-list members,
I am calculating the linear extrapolation for a data set, using the function
found in Hmisc.
x=c(0.0265,-0.0003,0.0142,0.0263,0.0634,0.1145,0.2504)
y=c(58,107,152,239,362,512,724)
x1=0.0393216
approxExtrap(x,y,x1, method="linear")
approx(x,y,x1)
#to see what is happening:
plot(x, y, typ="o")
abline(v=x1, col=8)
Which gives x=0.03 and y=163, instead of

Very slow performance on Sharded GlusterFS
Hi,
I want to give an update for this. I also tested READ speed. It seems, sharded volume has a lower read speed than striped volume.
This machine has 24 cores with 64GB of RAM . I really don?t think its caused due to low system. Stripe is kind of a shard but a fixed size based on stripe value / filesize. Hence, I would expect at least the same speed or maybe little slower. What I get is

dns queries from samba?
hi,
i played around with ethereal a bit, looks like samba is trying to
resolve GANDALF, the ethereal entry:
source: my ip, dest: nameserver, protocol: dns info: standard query A
GANDALF
im very sure i've used the name GANDALF for nothing else except my
netbios name.
My dns server awnsers with: Standard query response, Server
failure[Short Frame]
Is this really samba and if it is, why?
