Logon script
Hello, I am having a little problem with executing logon scripts on Win95 clients, logging into Samba Netlogon service. When a user logges in, a MS-DOS prompt shows up and quicky disappears. Then I get "Please Wait While your logon script executes". It hangs at that point. A user has to hit cancel to start his win95 session. I have done the logon script in MS-DOS editor. I have the

Wrong behaviour in pdb_get_set.c: pdb_get_pass_can_change_time?
Dear List, we have several server installations in local schools serving files with samba. The users are stored within an ldap database. We then tried to set the smabaPwdCanChange time somewhere in the future, but had to see, that samba didn't honored the given value. I then got the source, looked at the logs with an high log level and searched my way though it to two important functions,

BIG Problems with compiling DELPHI projects on SAMBA shares
Hello, we have a problem here. We are using Samba 1918p10 on Solaris 2.5.1 on Sun servers and Solarisx86 on pc servers with many, many NT 4.0/sp3 clients. Working great with different applications (Office, SPSS, and many others), now we installed Delphi 3.0, and if students are trying to compile Delphi projects on samba home share we have big problems. Compiling and working on local disk or Novell

A very strange SWAT: unix and samba password
Hi all, My setup is: Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS Samba/Swat 3.4.7~dfsg-1ubuntu3.8 I apply min password age both on Unix and Samba. I test SWAT and it seems to be working fine, except after few days I notice that changing password from SWAT doesn't modify the "Last password change" on unix password. As the result now the info on my account is: - Unix last password change: Mar 25, 2012 -

Basic help with imports and includes
Do any of you good people have a moment to help me out with my basic Puppet language skills, I''m a little new around here and getting an error I don''t yet understand. I have an RHEL4 Puppetmaster happily controlling the permissions of /etc/sudoers on an RHEL5 and SolarisX86 client. My actual environment consists of several systems in several locations. LoopStrengthReduce Code Owner: nominating Quentin
I’d like to nominate Quentin Colombet as LSR code owner. He has handled most of the reviews for me for the past couple years (thanks Quentin), and is willing to take on the responsiblity. Frankly, turning over ownership to Quentin is overdue. -Andy

ext2 problem
Hello all, I know this question is (strictly speaking) off topic, but if someone could at least point me in the right direction, I would be most grateful. I have an older system (RH 6.2, overdue for upgrade) with an ext2 partition that was pushing 99% filled. I did some space recovery and I have it down to around 90% utilization now. I have rebooted the unit, and brought it up single-user

ETA
Dear developers, I don't care for reasons, arguments, or flamefests. I need to plan my workload. By now I have half a dozen servers overdue for reimaging. I can put this off for another week or two, but not really much longer. There's obviously no point in installing centos 5 on any new machine. So I need to know: is there any point in my waiting another week, or should I just say

Running a DNS signed zone on Centos 5.5
My DNS server has been running Centos for some time. I am in the process of upgrading it to Centos 5.5 (long overdue, I know). Since we now have .com signed I want to get my domain signed as well, but I see that Centos 5.5 is running BIND 9.3.6 and a thread on the BIND list recommends against running a DNSSEC master zone on anything less than 9.6 and you really should be on 9.7. The thread

Polycom UC 4.x Unreachable
Hello, We've had dozens of Polycom 3.x firmware phones deployed and working great for years. Now I've finally been charged with the long-overdue task of figuring out why newer Polycom devices with 4.x firmware register fine but do not respond to SIP OPTIONS request and therefore always become UNREACHABLE if the sip qualify setting is set to yes. To my dismay, searches for solutions from

Non-kbuild klibc obsoleted
I have now officially obsoleted the non-kbuild version of klibc (yes, it's way overdue... my work-for-pay hasn't been too kind to me with time, I'm afraid.) As a result, I've renamed the klibc-kbuild.git repository klibc.git; the old one is now klibc-old.git, but I'm not promising that it will be continued to be maintained going forward. -hpa

SYSLINUX 3.50-pre14 pushed out; adds INCLUDE support
It really turned out not to be all that hard to do, after all. I definitely feel a bit silly, but there you have it. Please test this out as 3.50 really is way overdue to get out the door. -hpa

Re: Window Scrolling on OSX
I suppose Zach Drayer makes the Darwine version from thisismyinter.net. I tried his version 1.1.3, and it broke my Wine, so have gone back to 1.1.1. Hopefully the next build by either can fix OpenGL as well. I read it can't compile because of a dependancy on an XQuartz library which is too old in the current version. XQuartz 2.3.1 is also overdue. Maybe Kronenberg is waiting on them, too. It
