Printer queue problem (LPRng 3.4.2, Samba 1.9.18p4, Solaris 2.5.1/2.6)
I've been having a problem with Win95 clients watching a printer queue on the Samba server (called labserv2). labserv2 is a Solaris 2.5.1 machine running samba 1.9.18p4. The printing system is LPRng 3.4.2. A user can watch the printer queue from a Win95 client machine. However, when the printer queue gets backed up (usually about 12 jobs), the queue window locks. The corresponding smbd

On a similar machine configured without domains I have no problem. I have built using DES and without DES and have tried the -DBSD44 switch and without it (this is on FreeBSD). Enclosed is the debug

Samba and Cisco's WebVPN
Hi All, I'm posting this just in case someone can tell what's going on with samba that would prevent this from working. Cisco has the ability to see a smb share from their webvpn product with CIFS. We can browse windows shares but not samba shares. The following log outputs are from my ASA firewall. I know these are cisco logs but I'm hoping a lightbulb will come on for someone. The

Access denied/WERR_ACCESS_DENIED on Printer Properties/rpcclient
hello to everyone, I'm experiencing an annyoing problem with a shared printer (managed by samba 3.0.20b-3.4 on Linux - SuSe). The problem is that I cannot modify any of the printer settings (e.g. Location, etc. and of course the driver to use). I've successfully uploaded the correct driver with the APW in the print$ share. The printer data/settings can't be modified by rpcclient too.

smpassswd unable to join domain.
Hello, I have been trying for 3 days now to get smbpasswd to join my existing NT 4.0 domain, without success. The command I run is "smbpasswd -j CCH -r chrivdc01 -U knoxth" (yes, userid knoxth has Administrative access). No luck. I've included the output of adding -D 3 to the options line. Can anyone help me figure out what is happening?? Thanks! Tom ----- Forwarded by Thomas

Getting SAMBA 2.0.0 (SGI's compile) and HP's AS/U LanMan playing nice
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 The following is a level-10 debug log of the SAMBA machine attempting to join the CSUN2K domain administered by AS/U 9000 LANMAN daemon on HP9K1 (HP-UX 11.00) v B.04.03, NetBIOS v B.04.04 The procedure for doing this is two-fold.
