NT domain
Please excuse my ignorance in the NT realm. We have a router between us and Corporate. My local network does not have any NT in it, but Samba is running as it's own master Domain. I can not see any of corporates NT boxes in network neighborhood. I've been told I need this. If I do a find on a computer it find's it but I can't login to it, it doesn't know what type of

All, Is there a mount.cifs utility or mount_smbfs for Solaris 8 and Solaris 10. I would like to map drives to my Windows servers from Solaris. smbclient works great for accessing files but I want to map the drives. Samba using ADS
Hello list, I am using Samba with ADS authentication. I am able to map drives and open and close files with no issues with the exception of Microsoft Outlook email files. So from within Outlook, I open one of these email files and I get an access denied error. Even if i put 777 permission on the files in question I get the same error. I am using LDAP as a user and group store if that means

Samba, quotas and disk capacity?
Hi Bernd, There have been a lot of improvements in Samba since 2.0.5; I know that the 2.0.7 version is supposed to support unix HFS and VxFS quotas. Also the "with-quotas" option must be turned on at compile time, so perhaps your 2.0.5 version was not compiled "with-quotas"... I tested quotas and the HP 2.0.7 version here and it works the way that Dirk mentions, you will get

disk quotas + centos 5,5 +xfs
Hi all, is any one aware quotas not working in 5,5? I'm using XFS as a file system. My fstab has the appropriate usrquota, grpquota but when I try to run; quotacheck -cug /foo I get; quotacheck: Can't find filesystem to check or filesystem not mounted with quota option. I already have a large amount of data in the mount. Do quotas get implemented on only empty filesystems and

Disk Quotas

Automatic configuration of disk quotas with samba
Hi *, currently I'm having problems trying to configure automatically the disk quotas for users which access to a server in my work, the stage is as following: A server that owns services like: ssh, ftp, sftp, documents and profiles. The one uses winbind to authenticate users against a active directory domain controller; that's way we can't use adduser feature to configure this

[cifs-discuss] Disk quotas with CIFS & ZFS
There''s not much that CIFS can do as far as user quotas go without filesystem support. I''ve CC''ed zfs-discuss, somebody there might be able to provide you something useful. Afshin Ross wrote: > Not sure if this is the best place to ask about this. I know ZFS doesn''t have user quotas, but is there any chance something like this could be added to CIFS? >

Disk quotas for Sendmail
Hi, CentOS 5.x, Sendmail 8.13.8. I would like to start using disk quotas on my Sendmail server, and optimally they should be configurable by user or group. How can this be done? Let me clarify that -- I still put the _whole_ disk under LVM/LVM2 (maybe leaving a legacy BIOS/DOS primary 256MB in a pre-formatted FAT16 if I need it for firmware updates). But instead of pre-allocating "spares" of

Samba and disk quotas
Hello, I've been searching the archives and, while I haven't found and answer to my question, I get the impression the answer is no, but I would like to ask you guys anyway. Is it possible to have Samba display the "out of disk space" dialog (or, alternatively, just a warning dialog) when the soft limit is broken (as opposed to the hard limit)? The reason for thsi is that I

NFS quotas on Solaris 10
Hi list, I'm running Samba 3.6.4 on Solaris 10 x86. Underlying filesystem is ZFS. Since updating from 3.6.0, free space on NFS mounted ZFS filesystem, without a userquota set for the user, is always reported zero. 'quota -v' and the perl module 'Quota' both report no quota for such file systems. (Un)setting (ref)quota for those filesystems doesn't change anything. Any

samba printing and disk quotas in Active Directory domain
I've recently made a great deal of progress getting ready to roll out linux workstations in our Windows Active Directory environment. There are a couple of very significant problems I'm stuck with though, one of which is definitely Samba related, and the other which is borderline Samba related. Problem 1 - Printing from Linux to Windows print servers I have read all the
