SVE/SVE2 LLVM sync-up calls
Hi all, Several people have expressed interest in having regular sync-up calls to follow the progress of ARM SVE/SVE2 support in LLVM. With this effort picking up steam and multiple people contributing patches, regular sync-up calls would provide a platform to coordinate our efforts. Items to discuss in these sync-up calls would include: - SVE/SVE2 CodeGen support - Adding support for C/C++

Another issue with Sys.timezone
(I reported the test failure mentioned below to R-help but was advised that this list is the right one to address the issue; in the meantime I investigated the matter somewhat more closely, including searching recent R-devel postings, since I haven't been following this list.) Last May there were two reports here of problems with Sys.timezone, one where the zoneinfo directory is in a

strptime() keeps emitting warnings after establishing a handler with tryCatch()
Hello, I cannot reproduce this behavior and, as documented, the posted code doesn't issue warnings due to a wrong timezone but I'm running sessionInfo() R version 4.0.3 (2020-10-10) Platform: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu (64-bit) Running under: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS Matrix products: default BLAS: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/blas/libblas.so.3.9.0 LAPACK:

strptime() keeps emitting warnings after establishing a handler with tryCatch()
Dear list members, I have come about a peculiar behavior in R (4.0.2) which I would describe as a bug. On macOS, where `strptime()` raises a warning for invalid timezone identifiers, the following code will continue to raise the original warning with every subsequent call to `strptime()`: ``` # attach a handler for warnings for this call only: tryCatch(strptime('2020-10-31 18:30', format

time_zone_select :priority_zones not working properly
I sent this earlier but I don''t think it ever came through. Sorry if this is a reposting. When using :priority_zones for time_zone_select in a manner described by the API docs for ActionView::Helpers::FormOptionsHelper I''m getting errors. Here is an API docs example: time_zone_select( "user", ''time_zone'', TimeZone.us_zones, :default =>

Problem with dates
Hello, I am instaling Horde on my CentOS 6, and when I do "webmail-install" I have a lots of this warnings: Warning: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely

setting timezone from kickstart
Hi all, I used to do manual installs so I would set the timezone each time. I have now migrated to kickstart and I wish to use a command line (at boot) parameter to set the needed timezone. I am familiar with timeconfig and that works. I tried timeconfig --help (looking for command line arguments) and there appears to not be a command line way that I see to set the timezone. I have seen

Timezone warnings on package install in R-alpha
Dear all, As of the current R alpha release, I'm seeing timezone-related warnings on installing any package (including the recommended ones), which I haven't seen before. For example, [~/Documents/Source/R-alpha]$ bin/R CMD INSTALL ~/git/tractor/lib/reportr * installing to library '/Users/jon/Documents/Source/R-alpha/library' * installing *source* package 'reportr' ...

Simple as.Date question dealing with a timezone offset
I've been trying to understand the as.Date functionality and I have a date and time stamp field that looks like this: "Tue Sep 15 09:22:09 -0600 2009" and I need to turn it into an R Date object for analysis. Simple date conversions I have down, no problem: > adate = c("7/30/1959") > as.Date(adate,"%m/%d/%Y") [1] "1959-07-30" > But when it
