Problem Logging into Domain
I've got Samba 2.2.3a running on Debian Linux Kernel 2.4.21 setup as a
domain controller. When I try and login to the domain from a Windows XP
workstation I get the following message.
Windows cannon connect to the domain, either because the domain controller
is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer account was not
found.
Can anybody think of what is causing this? Any help

systemd unit files for NSD launch in chroot?
Hi,
I'm starting to migrate a number of authoritative nameservers on small
VMs from bind9 to NSD.
At the same time, I'm switching all inits from sysvinit to systemd.
Cribbing systemd unit files from Fedora for NSD
(http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/nsd.git/tree/), they're
straightforward enough -- but seem to ignore proper chroot
setup/startup.
I've poked in current NSD 3x

rails boolean and mysql tinyint(1) question?
this may seem silly but i just noticed that if in mysql the column
which is a tinyint(1) happens 2 or greater, by a chance of glitch or
corruption in the database(i did it manually ofcourse but i am
speaking hypothetically), rails would see it as false. but i find that
really wrong seeing how in mysql it sees any non-zeroes as true.
i really think if it does happen to be any number other than 1

systemd service files for nsd4?
Hi
I'm starting a migration from NSD 3 -> 4.
I note in @src ./contrib/ that an init.d is still provided.
Are there any systemd service files, etc.
available/documented/recommended yet?

Question about verbose_proctitle
Hello,
I have a question relating to the detail that the verbose_proctitle parameter enables for ps.
I have TLS configured for IMAP as follows:

ssl = required
ssl_cert = </path/to/cert.pem>
ssl_key = </path/to/key.pem>

Need some help with a new SNAT/DNAT/NAT + DMZ + Xen Host/Guest config.
Hi.
I''m migrating to shorewall(6) mgmt of my various firewalls.
Simple configs have been easy with the great docs.
I''ve got a slightly more convoluted config, and have gotten ''lost'' in
config''ing a SNAT/DNAT/NAT + DMZ + Xen Host/Guest set up with Static
IP/29. Having some challenges wrapping my head around the ''best''

speed up merge
Hello,
I have a nasty loop that I have to do 11877 times. The only thing that
slows it down really is this merge:
xx1 = merge(dt,ua_rd,by.x=1,by.y= 'rt_date',all.x=T)
Any ideas on how to speed it up? The output can't change materially (it
works), but I'd like it to go faster. I'm looking at getting around the
loop (not shown), but I'm trying to speed up the merge first.

coordinates from locator function in POSIXct format
Dear R-list,
I have a plot with y-axis corresponding to wind measurments
and x-axis with date-time information.
When I want to identify some extrem wind events in the
wind-curve, I use locator() to get the exact
date-information, by clicking in the points in graph I?m
interested in.
I get in the R console the x and y coordinates.
The x coordinates are not in a POSIXct format, I guess R is

ZFS/UFS/TMPFS and extended attributes inconsistent behaviour
As part of looking into a minor issue with the group listed when using
runat(1) on a UFS filesystem for Johannes (my Google Summer of Code
student work on new basic file privs), I discovered an even bigger issue
with UFS and extended attributes.
I''ve cc''d ZFS discuss because I used ZFS as the comparison and I believe
that ZFS is acting correctly but even then it might not be
