Netlogon in Win95 ?
Hi,
We try configure Netlogon/Profiles in Samba 1.9.18p7 to use in
Win95, but the "login script" did not run in win95 login process.
The net configuration is:
Clients Win95 using Novell 4.2 and Microsoft in same time;
Servers UNIX using Solaris 2.5.1 Server.
The SMB.CONF is:
##START-OF-SMB.CONF

Win95 .bat Issue
For some reason I'm getting Access denied errors when I try to execute a
.bat file that resides on a TRU64 samba share, from a Win95 command prompt.
The drive is mapped as x:\ & for the sake of testing, the directory has been
recursively set to 777 (chmod).
Command prompt output:
x:\> x:\r235\src\ntprpst\sharc\mta\src\build_sharc_fta.bat

Login script for Win95 machines
On my Samba server I created a directory called 'netlogon' and I put a batch
file in there called 'login.bat'. Also did I create a share called
'netlogon' which points to the 'netlogon' directory.
I set up samba to use a login script (login script=netlogon/login.bat).
Strange enough it does not seem to be executed when Win95 clients logon. If

Group Policies
I was told that this mailing list might be a good place to get some
answers that another one I'm on couldn't answer.
I am using Samba to serve a small Christian school in PA, and we went
for it mostly because of the cost - how much better than free can you
get! I've been very pleased with it, as it's my first server setup.
Learned a lot and have gotten a lot of help. However,

intermittent login failures (Win95/Samba 1.9.18p10)
We are using Windows 95 OSR 2 clients here in our lab in
conjunction with Samba 1.9.18p10 on Linux kernel 2.0.35.
We are getting intermittent login failures that I can't
figure out. The user will type their username and password
in, hit OK, and the system will respond, "The domain
password you supplied is not correct, or access to your
logon server has been denied." If the user

samba and win95-login
Hi,
I want to set up samba and win95 so that password checking is made
via samba and also some login scripts are started. I have changed
windows setup to login on NT-Domain with my samba's hostname as DOMAIN.
I also have enabled wins support on win95. But after reboot, when I am
asked for user, password and domain I always get an error message,

Samba 3.0.0 PDC + Win2000 Client + Group Policies
We want to build a Debian's unstable samba 3.0.0beta2-1 as PDC with plenty of
Windows 2K clients.
Joining the domain, Domain Logons, Roaming Profiles, Domain Groups, are Ok.
As we thought that Samba 3 cannot handle Win2K's GPOs (isn't it?), we tried
NT4 style Group Policies to restrict a bit users posibilities (as we have
students as users). Our opinion is that Mandatory Profiles

logon script with Win95
I've been having some trouble loggin on to the home share on my Win95 boxes.
I've checked the archive, and I've seen this posted before, but no solution
posted. My smb.conf maps home directories correctly with NT logons, but not
with Win95 PCs. It maps the profiles directory instead of the home directory.
If someone could take a quick look at my smb.conf and let me know what I hosed

Followup to: Can't get Win95 to share after using policy
Regarding my earlier message (attached), the actual problem appears
to be that regardless of the policy settings (even removing CONFIG.POL
on the server!), I can't add File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft
Networks as a client service on the Win95 client computer!
How can I re-enable this?

password change from win95 client doesn't work
Hi All,
I've got a Samba client that runs Windows 95 (way old, i know). Logging
onto the domain rocks! However, changing the domain password using the
control panel results in an error (translated from dutch): "Access to
the network has been denied"
What is wrong?

Win95 share going in and out of df under smbfs?
Is this a known problem?
I've seen this problem both under 2.0.6 and 2.0.7, on my Debian Linux
system (kernel 2.2.14):
A Win95 share that I mounted under smbfs will show up as mounted in df,
and even contain the correct Used/Available info. If I do an 'ls' on
the mountpoint, I see no files. If I 'umount' the share, I get the 'not
mounted' error, but then no longer

Windows Policies and Samba 2.0.4b - More information
Hello all,
I wrote yesterday about problems with Windows policies and Samba 2.0.4b
yesterday. Since then, I've had someone ask for a more detailed
explanation, so here it is.
Samba currently provides domain logons for a number Windows 95 and 98
clients (as well as the standard file serving). The domain logon currently
succeeds, a user's username and password is accepted and the client

Win95 and Win98 - hanging while shutdown
Hallo!
I have a small problem. As I installed a Samba-server at one of our customers (office of foreign affairs, AKA consulate), Win98r2 does not want to shut down, the system hangs. It looks like if Windows "forgets" to disconnect the services before shutdown (at least the system hangs - over night (!!) and according to logfiles the workstation
has not made any disconnect). As I

How to have a Default Profile per group ?
Hello,
My main question is :
? Is it possible to have a dedicated Default Profile per group ? ?
The idea is to have a specified and prepared default profile for each
groups we have. For the time being we've already had a "Default User/"
directory in our netlogon directory which delivers a single and only
fresh default profile. It's the same profile for everyone even if
