"User not authorized to connect from this station"
Hello, I'm running the newest version of Samba on an Irix 6.4 server. One of our NT clients is having a problem. When the user tries to access the server (Start-->Run-->"\\SERVER"), the username/password field comes up. When that user puts in his valid username/password, and error pops up that says "User not authorized to connect from this station." No valid

NT access problems: The account is not authorized to logon from this station
I recently installed RedHat 5.2 w/ SAMBA and hooked it up to my small LAN. All my other machines are Windows 95, 98, and NT. I have TCP/IP installed on all machines and they can all ping each other. I am not running with a domain controller. I am instead using a workgroup. All Windows machines can talk to each other both through TCP/IP and Network Neighborhood. I finally got SAMBA set up on the

setup problems
Hi folks -- I'm trying to share out my home directory and one other directory from an SGI O2 running IRIX 6.3 to an HP Vectra running Win NT 4.0. I'm having some problems and would appreciate a hand. I've read the man pages, DIAGNOSIS.txt, the FAQ, and most of the other documents in the distribution. My problem is probably a simple configuration issue, but I haven't been able

RE: The account is not authorized to log in from this station
No, i can't. I have also tried pcguest, guest, admin, and windows 2000 accounts. Question for you: If i want to connect to a windows 2000 shared folder from my Linux box, what command do I type to attach or mount it? Is it simply "mount -o smbfs username=win2k_username,password=password //windows_server_name/shared_folder /shared_folder" -----Original Message----- From: Rhodes,

"not authorized to login" and libpam-mysql
Hi all, I get the error message "not authorized to login from this station". This is not fixed as suggested in past posts (encrypt = no, NT4_plainpassword.reg). I have libpam-mysql installed. And it never even gets called for authentication from the NT machine! If I connect from the local PC with smbclient //server/share password -U user I get the following in syslog (I turned on

Problem with Samba: "The account is not authorized to login from this station"

Under security=user, when I attempt to browse the linux machine's shares, it asks for a username and password, and then fails, telling me "The account is not authorized to login from this station." If I set security = share, I can browse the shares, but when I try and

Account not authorized to login from this station
Hello, I've got a problem to connect to my samba server from other NT domains/workgroups. The error message I get is: The account is not authorized to login from this station. People are able to login from the local workgroup. I've looked at google, most of the time this error message indicates that encrypted passwords have to be turned on. This was already done. When I try to make a
