Deleted messages reappearing
Hi all,
in the last days, probably since I upgraded to 2.2.7, I'm seeing lots of
deleted messages reappearing in my folders. This is after this error in
the log:

Strange problem with rsync and expect
Version: 3.0.6OS: CentOS 6.6
I met a strange problem when using rsync with expect. I wrote a script backing up using rsync and expect. However when I run the script twice for two different files at same time, the two files on destination path would be deleted automatically before the files closed. The output of inotify_wait was like:
./ MODIFY .redo02.log.dOlbek
./ DELETE .redo02.log.dOlbek

Patches for samba 3.0.0 client/client.c
Patch against samba 3.0.0 client/client.c
Mainly for -L parameter options
1.) Add a configurable connection delay. The default is too long.
Add items to long_options of poptOption for help message, however I
just put something "i.e. CONNSETUP" to the last parameter of
long_options. It seems for use of documentation ????

[PATCH] `smbclient -M' ignores `-p port'
Peter:
Thanks! It now works fine on Solaris 2.6. Now I just need to remember how
to manipulate source RPMs so I can fix the Linux (RedHat 6.x) version. :-)

Samba-3.0.34 can ADS join but not non-ADS join.
I was using Samba-3.0.14a perfectly fine.
Now, I'm trying to use Samba-3.0.34.
I can do an "ADS" join fine with Samba-3.0.34, but I cannot do my old
non-ADS join anymore. Winbindd starts and stays running fine, but when
I run net to do the non-ADS join I'm running into a strange "interfaces" issue.
It now wants an "interfaces" line in the smb.conf file when

Urgent help required for a newbie!
Iam running Samba 2.0.10 on a FreeBSD 4.2 platform within a Windows 98/2k
peer to peer network.
Most of the time this system appears to be working very well with the file
system nicely browsable by the client machines. Unfortunately, from time to
time the following error appears within the log.smb:

CIDR prefix with a non-multiple of 8
First off, I apologize for reporting a problem with a "historical"
version of Samba, but this is what we use in our production environment
due to some integration issues with the 3.0 series.
I've been experiencing a problem with Samba 2.2.x when trying to use a
CIDR notation for hosts allow/deny when that CIDR prefix is not one of (
/8, /16, /24, or /32). When I included a

Signal 11 on winbindd start: memory leak in malloc

I am trying to setup winbind on my machine as described in the Samba HOWTO

[Bridge] combining vlan tagging and spanning tree
Hi,
I am configuring some servers in a high availability setup. The servers
are connected to two switches with two LAN cards in each server. The two
switches are connected directly to each other.
The servers are configured to bridge eth0 and eth1 with spanning tree.
Usually this makes sure eth1 is disabled, unless something happens to
eth0. This way I can have one IP address on each server.

Join AD: no logon server
Hello,
I am trying to join my server to a Win2k AD domain.
I have configured kerberos and can get a ticket but when I try to join the
AD I get the error "Failed to join domain: No logon servers" as detailed
below.
I have searched the archives and google and followed some suggestions to get
my files into the correct format but still have a problem.
I am using Samba version 3.0.32-0.fc8

LDAP: strange "net groupmap" behaviour
Dear Sirs,
I did the following command (against ldapsam backend):
net groupmap add rid=3002 unixgroup=wheel type=local ntgroup=Marketoids
comment=Mm -d 10
I just wanted to add new group. But instead of that I saw many-many-many
records:
lib/smbldap.c:smbldap_search(963)
passdb/pdb_ldap.c:ldapsam_getgroup(2008)
they all wanted to find group with gidNumber=4294967295, yes, sure,

"smbclient -p <port>" appears to be broken in Samba 2.x
I posted this problem as a question to this list a while ago and got no
reply. I submitted it as a bug, but found that "samba-bugs@samba.org",
no longer accepts bug reports, even though the web page says to send them
to that address.
Wondering if the option had been intentionally discontinuted without
updating the man page, I made a quick check of the source and found that
