ANNOUNCE: [MAINT] Unplanned network outage
Hi, My ISP had an unplanned network outage starting around 2am this morning that took all connectivity offline -- their router ran out of memory and took out all BGP routes. Their router has since been rebooted and packets are now flowing again. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. -derek -- Derek Atkins 617-623-3745 derek at ihtfp.com

ANNOUNCE: [MAINT] Unplanned network outage Saturday/Sunday
Hi, Many of you may have noticed that it was pretty quiet over the weekend. AT&T (my ISP) had a fiber cut around 1am Saturday Night (Sunday Morning) that took out my network. They kept pushing the expected resolution until 5am today, but the network was repaired at 7:09pm last night at which point everything should have come back. This outage affected code, which runs email, wiki, and git

Re-Send - Non-HTML - (Sorry) Samba and Solaris and Linux
Hello everyone, Just kind of a generalized question, and looking more for caveats than anything else. We're getting ready to implement the latest and greatest release of Samba on one of our Sun servers. Unfortunately, we haven't determined which one yet, but we only have two, so it's not a big deal. Anyways, I've set up Samba successfully on Linux on multiple occasions, the

Script question
Hello, I've got the following script that I want to run every time a user logs in to the Samba server, whether it be from a mapped share or by opening a telnet session into the server and logging in that way. Here's the script: #!/bin/sh DOMAIN=`echo $USER | awk -F_ '{print $1}'` USERNAME=`echo $USER | awk -F_ '{print $2}'` if [ $DOMAIN = "MA" ]; then if [

FC4, Samba 3.0.14-2, Windows 2K: cannot access home directory
What might be the possible causes of an smbclient NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME error? smbclient generates this error when I attempt to connect to my [homes] share from a Mandrake Linux 10.1 (Samba 3.0.7) box to my Fedora Core 4 box (Samba 3.0.14a-2). Similarly, my Windows 2000 machine complains that folder "\\Fedora\derek is not accessible. The network name cannot be found." I can

[Fwd: TDM40B - "Unable to play dialtone on channel X" ?]
Hi everyone, Sorry for forwarding and top-posting this email again but its as if my TDM40b has keeled over yesterday. After a few hours last night and swapping the card to another asterisk server (with exactly the same result) I needed to have the FXS ports working ASAP this morning so I have repaced the functionality of the TDM40b with some Grandstream handytones which I already had in

Strange issues - 2.2.6 and RH 7.3
Hello, Got a strange issue, that might be nothing, or it might be something. I'm running 2.2.6 on an RH 7.3 box at the moment. Everything is working great for the most part. Through winbind I have it authenticating from the domain controller, users have their own little private share of space, etc etc. However, I've noticed that sometimes the personal share doesn't show up. Listening on multiple ports
Many thanks - it doesn't work for me, however. There must be something in my configuration somewhere else, perhaps nothing to do with Dovecot, that prevents this. :-) On 27/04/18 18:55, Aki Tuomi wrote: > Yep. > > Aki > >> On 27 April 2018 at 09:50 Derek Harding <rev.derek.harding at gmail.com> wrote: >> >> >> I appreciate your suggestion.

Samba Comple Problem on Solaris 2.8
So I am compling the newest release of samba 3.0.14a on Solaris 2.8. I can get it to compile but I don't get all the built in modules that I should and smbd when fired up bombs out with something like, ------- derek@supernova:/opt/UMsmb/sbin# ./smbd -c /etc/samba/smb.conf -i smbd version 3.0.14a started.
