Printing problem with 1.9.17p1
Well, no one seems to have answered ,my past message, so lets try
this one..
I installed 1.9.17p1 on our HP server at work, and an interesting
problem has cropped up, forcing me to revert to 1.9.16.
With the 9.16 server in place, several of our HP clients experience
printing problems. They can print across the network fine, but local
printing doesn't work properly. If I revert to 1.9.16,

LANManager, Samba and HP-UX 10.20
Greetings. I've been asked to configure Samba on an hP server to
replace LAN Manager since LAN Manager goes away in 10.20. Ok, I've
got Samba built and running. Any Win95 clients can see the server
with Network Neigh, net view etc. (This is HP-UX 9.xx) We also have
a _bunch_ of HP Windows Clients. These boot quite happily via tftp
with both LANM and samba running.
These HP clients

FW: Question about carraige-return/line feed
Hi,
I have just installed Samba 1.9.16p11 on a SCO openserver 5 box. This
works well, in fact its very fast. There is only one problem. When files
are created on it from Windows 95 you get a ^M character at the end of
each line.
Is there a way of turning carraige-return linefeed back to just linefeed.
(I'm assuming this is the problem).
Thanks,
Mark.

Samba configuration
I'm trying to config a Linux box to integrate into a windows network using
pam_smb and samba.
Ive set it up so that using pam_smb I can get the user to log onto the
linux desktop with their NT id and password.
The only problem is once the user is logged on they need to be able to
access shared resources disk, printers etc... without the need to
reauthenticate to the domain, i.e. use a cache

thicker axis in levelplot
Dear R-help community,
I need to find out how to make the black axis line around my plot thicker in
levelplot, I cannot find the correct command in ?levelplot or ?par - or if it is
there I cannot get it to work - any help would be more that appreciated!
Here's an example script - I would want the code for making the axis bordering
the plot thicker:
x<- seq(pi/4, 5*pi,length=100)

how to make point character thicker in xyplot?
Is there anyway to make plotting point character being thicker in xyplot? I mean
not larger which can achieved by "cex=2", but thicker. I tried lwd=2, but it
didn't work. I know "lwd" works in regular plot() not only for lines, but also
for points. For example
plot(1:10, lwd=2)
Thanks

Making the lines thicker in histogram
I'm using a histogram and want to overlay this onto a barplot. I need the
histogram lines to be thicker in order for it to stand out more on top of
the barplot. Is there a command in order to do this?
Thanks in advance.

How to make pch symbols thicker?
Hi I need to know how to make pch symbols like pch=3 (+) or pch=4(x) or even
the border of squares or triangles thicker without changing the size. I have
a lot of symbols of different colors but you can't see the colors clearly
and I don't want to change the symbol.
Thanks!

how to make plot lines thicker
I am trying to make the lines thicker in a graph (for a ppt presentation).
Here is what I currently have:
plot(x,y,type="l", ylab="Number of OTUs", xlab="Number of Samples
Collected", col="Black", pch=1, ylim=c(0,6000))
points(x, Sobs$Chao_1_Mean, type="l", col="Gray", pch=1) (this is one of the
added lines in the graph).

lattice: How to display no box but only a y-axis on the left + Thicker lines
Hi,
I have two somewhat embarassing questions about the lattice-related
plot functions:
1.) How do I make lattice (e.g. barchart) to not draw a box but only a
y-axis on the left hand side so that the plot looks like barplot with
default settings? So that the following two code snippets look more
alike:
barplot(VADeaths)
library(reshape)
vad <- melt(data.frame(VADeaths,

modifing barplot
Hi,
I would like to modify how barplot .... plots. For reasons only my supervisor comprehends i need to do the crisscross lines in the bar thicker. If i use lwd=2 the y-axis is thicker, (i use the option beside = TRUE) but nothing else is affected by this parameter - it seems. I looked at the barplot.r code but i am afraid i don't quite understand it so ..... i am at loss.
I am using

Adding axis lines to splom plots
Hi,
I am trying to produce a 30x30 lattice grid. The 30 variables naturally
fall into three groups of ten and I would like to add thicker axis lines
around these to highlight this. However, I can only do this separately,
so far, and I don't know how to superimpose the grid with the thicker
lines (separating the 10x10 groups) onto the overall grid of all 30x30
plots. I enclose a

plotting GAM
Dear colleagues,
I would like to have GAM regression lines (package gam) thicker than the default
setting does. Is there any way to change the width of regression line when plotting
gam.objects from the package GAM with more than one predictor? Changing lwd
parameter in plot function controls all line components, including points making them
thicker as well, which is not what I would like to

Different networks over NAT
Hi,
I've been struggling for almost a week now, but I can't get the
following setup to work.
At home I have class A network: 10.0.0.0/16 with a masquerading gateway
10.0.0.1 running tinc.
At work (http://www.eastsite.nl) we have a 192.168.0.0/24 network. The
gateway is called 'ed'
I've set up tinc on 'gateway' and everything is working fine from

point characters THICKER in xyplot()
Hi, how can I make the point characters thicker (NOT larger) in xyplot when
groups= argument is used?
dat<-data.frame(x=1:100,y=1:100,group=rep(LETTERS[1:5],each=20))
### lwd=2 doesn't work here
xyplot(y~x,groups=group,data=dat,col=1:4,pch=1:4,lwd=2)
### lwd=2 works with panel.points(), but grouping is messed up!
xyplot(y~x,groups=group,data=dat,col=1:4,pch=1:4,

SYSLINUX development is now in "git"
I have now migrated SYSLINUX development from CVS to "git". A clonable
repository is available at:
rsync://rsync.kernel.org/pub/scm/boot/syslinux/syslinux.git
If you're doing any kind of development of syslinux, I recommend
installing cogito and git and cloning this repository. It will both
yours and my workflow a lot nicer. It will also let people see ongoing

Matching multiple destination IPs in the ingress queue.
I''ve been trying to match multiple public IPs in an ingress qdisc. The
idea is to allow these specific IPs and aggregate value of 256 kbits
incoming to the interface.
Can anyone tell me how this can be effectively done if at all possible
with tc?
Thanks in advance
