MRTG drop/reject hits
I have created shell script for MRTG statistics of droped/rejected packets: ftp://slovakia.shorewall.net/mirror/shorewall/mrtg/ http://slovakia.shorewall.net/pub/shorewall/mrtg/ rsync://slovakia.shorewall.net/shorewall/mrtg/ example: http://slovakia.shorewall.net/pub/shorewall/mrtg/example/ It is not based on /var/log/messages (syslog), but iptables counter. A lot of packets are droped/rejected

SMB2 write performace slower than SMB1 in 10Gb network
Hi forks: I've been testing SMB2 with samba 3.6.4 performance these days, and I find a weird benchmark that SMB2 write performance is slower than SMB1 in 10Gb ethernet network. Server ----------------------- Linux: Redhat Enterprise 6.1 x64 Kernel: 2.6.31 x86_64 Samba: 3.6.4 (almost using the default configuration) Network: Chelsio T4 T420-SO-CR 10GbE network adapter RAID: Adaptec 51645 RAID

SAR
Folks, At what point in iowait should I start to worry about having a bottleneck, or is this something that can't be answerd with a single integer? According to sar, after my last reboot to turn off hyperthreading as a test, at one time, I see 4.9% iowait, but then one minute later, it droped back to 0.01%, and rarely even gets to 1.0%, at least what I remember from yesterday. ?

Port forwarding...
Hi all Is it possible to just forward port to local computer but not give open access for that port? If I''ve understood right that this rule does give ACCESS from net to loc too: DNAT net loc:192.168.1.5 udp 7777 What I''m trying to say is that it would work so that everything that''s coming from net to that local computers port is DROPed or REJECTed if it''s

T.38 ATA
Hello all ! Can anyone recommend me ATA device that REALLY has T.38 built in. So far I have heard of Telco Systems Access201, which seems to be impossible to bye in Europe (all resselers are droped Telco systems ATAs for some reason (tried in Germany and in UK so far)), and I have heard that SIPURA SPA-2100 should have T.38 built in into newer firmware, but I wasn't able to confirm that

-R tunnels
After a connection issue, sometimes I get "Warning: remote port forwarding failed for listen port" when trying to establish -R tunnels, and that is because sshd didn't clear the port binding when the connection droped. Restarting sshd on the server *doesn't* clear this issue, the port remains binded. ?Shouldn't a sshd restart solve this? Also wouldn't it be reasonable to

Samba & ICMP allow problem
I am running a Redhat FC2 server, which runs postfix for mail, Squid for proxy and samba as Domain Controller and file server. I installed shorewall-2.1.11-1. 69.x.x.x network in rfc1918
I came across a problem when one of our clients was not able to access any of the servers on our network. This person has never connected to us before and now for this first time was trying to do it from his home is Houston, TX using earthlink cable service provided by Time Warner. All this information, I think, is important because when I started examining my shorewall logs I found out

dropped calls
Hello list, I'm getting droped calls on an asterisk installation. When on GS phone dials another one, the call is dropped after some (usually random) time but most of the tome within 3 to 20 seconds. I think the cause is stated on the logs, see bellow, and is related with the message "Didn't get a frame from channel: SIP/3805-df43", but I can't figure why. asterisk logs:

Why current mount connection don't close after remove from config and reload?
Well I am only guessing here, but I suspect if icecast works like other daemons reload just reloads the config but doesn't terminate current connections. You probably want /etc/init.d/icecast restart On 15 May 2018 12:35:39 AM NZST, "subscription at nextdial.com.br" <subscription at nextdial.com.br> wrote: >Hello, > >After removing a mount from the xml config

Why current mount connection don't close after remove from config and reload?
Hello Jake, Thanks for you reply. If I restart all listeners's connections would be droped (not only those related to the droped mount). Nginx, for example, would reload the configuration droping the server/location that don't exists anymore and active the new ones. Icecast has not the same behaviour. Am I wrong? Is there any other way to do what I want to do?
