Everest Poker in Wine
I have installed Everest Poker.exe and Everest Pokernet.exe but it does not work. A friend tried it in his own home with also Suse 11.0 and KDE 3.5 and kernel 2.6.250 (like with me) and he only saw the program starting up and then: Wine Internet Explorer 66.212.232.162 uses an invalid security certificate The certificate is only valid for <a uid="cert_domain_link"

Errors
I've tried to find a solution on my own to this problem, but have yet to find anything useful. I have a very simple setup where there is only one samba server which is acting as a PDC. I'm getting quite a few errors in smbd.log. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. [2005/03/29 15:28:22, 0] lib/util_sock.c:get_peer_addr(1000) getpeername failed. Error was Transport endpoint is

NT & Win98 slow copies
Howdy all: For those who are curious (eg, Peter de Groot <pdgtech@wantree.com.au>) here are the (I think) relevant posts from recent samba digests concerning win98 and or NT performance problems copying files between local drives and samba shares. It looks like there should be some new options to play with in the next samba release. Could Jeremy or Andrew confirm? (BTW, nice

Anyone using SCO 3.2v4.2 with Samba 1.9.18p3??
SCO Unix 3.2v4.2 Samba 1.9.18p3 Problem with I_STR/SIOCGIFCONF I haven't a clue what is wrong here... We compiled samba 1.9.18p3 using GCC and everything is working pretty much okay. However, when we start the nmbd server we get an error message: > 03/22/1998 10:19:15 netbios nameserver version 1.9.18p3 started > Copyright Andrew Tridgell 1994-1997 > doing parameter log level = 3

Slowdown when copying large files (PR#8617)
> Further to my previous post, I have made an interesting discovery. This > particular slowdown only occurs from clients that are running > Windows 98. The Windows98 explorer (and possibly other programs) incorrectly set the "sync" bit in write requests to network shares. This causes an enormous slowdown as Samba (quite correctly) does a fsync() on the file after each write.

help for hire? wine crashes when running http://www.verydoc
Hello, I?m willing to pay $500 to the person that can help me. Of course, free help would be even better :-) I want to get the software at http://www.verydoc.com/dwg-to-vector.htm to run under wine. This program converts dwg to swf (flash). It?s a command line program that I want to integrate it into a web app. I can get the conversion tool to give me it?s help message by running ?wine

Re: Everest Poker in Wine
Following to above mentioned problem, things have been solved somewhat. But it seems that I have to allow something in OpenSuse Firewall (Yast2). How can I find the port used by Everest Poker? I've got many IP numbers relating to all sites as mentioned in settings.ini, which one should I choose? How can I allow these items in my Firewall? Thanks for your replies.

MS-Client
Hi! I use MS-Client for pre-Windows 95 computers to use shares on my Linux boxes, but also to serve their disks to everyone else. This used to work, but I gradually upgraded and problems arose. This afternoon, I wanted to use smbclient to access a share on the Dos-computer, it gave listings of what was there, but I couldnt retrieve any file. Mounting didn't work either, because I still had

Cannot access the (old) samba server on my router from Linux
Hello, my isp provided me with an ont+wireless router combo. The router can share via samba a mounted usb thumb drive. The problem is that it's a very old samba version (apparently 1.9.16p10) and I cannot access it from Linux: luca at seis:~$ smbclient -s /dev/null -L 192.168.10.1 Enter luca's password: Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 1.9.16p10] tree connect failed:

MSDFS redirection WinXP SP2
I am currently having problems accesing our samba msdfs shares from Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 and WinXP SP1 seem unaffected. I have attached the smb.conf and the exports files that define the shares. Running ethereal on the different clients seems to point to the fact that XP SP2 no longer seems to be using the netbios-ssn (139) port. for GET_DFS_REFERRAL instead its using microsoft-ds

Samba version 1.17px - IRIX binaries
I am having heaps of trouble browsing other subnets, on the other side of our routers. After a LOT of surfing thru the digests, it appears that I need at least version 1.17 of Samba. I am currently running 1.9.16p10 on IRIX 6.2. Problem I do not have access to a C compiler, and I cannot find a copy of the IRIX binaries anywhere on the net. Could somebody point me to a location where I might
