X100P/Caller ID: clidtest works, * complains [repost]
Hi,
I'm running Asterisk 1.0.8 on Gentoo, with an X100P (clone) card, and I'm
having problems with Caller ID. I have run clidtest, and it seems happy
enough, returning:-
server clidtest # ./clidtest /dev/zap/1
Number: 0412222222, Name: MOBILE
(that number's fake.) However, I'm not getting the caller ID passed
through with *. Sometimes I get a "failed checksum" like

vif0.0/veth0 or eth0
When does vif0.0 get created?
Is there some shell magic?
I''m trying to figure out how to do a similar peth1/veth1 split for eth1.

Data frame from list of lists
This seems to be a simple problem, and I feel that there ought to be a
simple answer, but I can't seem to find it.
I have a function that returns a number of values as a heterogeneous list -
always the same length and same names(), but a number of different data
types, including character. I want to apply it to many inputs, resulting in
a list of lists.
I would like to turn this list of

CRC Checksum problems causing issues with bridging and maybe things like nfs. Wish we had better documentation. (was Re: XenNetworking - Reason for NOARP on eth1/br1?)

Benchmarking Xen - Xeon vs Opteron. Will memory latency make a difference?
Has anyone done any performance profiling for Xen on different
platforms? I''m wondering if the big (50%+) memory latency advantage
the Opteron''s have over the Xeon''s makes a big difference in the
context of a Xen host with multiple active guest domains.
Particularly at the moment I''m considering the 2-way situation with
the SunFire v20z vs the Intel SR1400JR2.

20050819 snapshot tests without problems
Hi all,
I downloaded and tested SNAP-20050819 on the following systems:
- Gentoo (as up-to-date as possible, though not bleeding edge) desktop
- An old LFS (linuxfromscratch) server
- Fedora Core 4 (server with newest updates)
All tests worked fine on every platform, no problems at all.
Cheers,
Tobias

Interesting interaction between journal recovery and slow boots
For some time now I have been puzzled as to why certain portions
of my system boot were quite slow -- but only after journal
recoveries.
I was fearing that there was some ugly interaction between the
recovery and the use of the journal shortly afterward but alas that is
not the case. So just in case anybody else is seeing this problem and
decides to try to hunt it down, let me save you some

Hello,
samba v3.0.7 on suse linux v9.1
os/2 v4.x
I have started the process of replacing our os/2 hosts with linux,
starting with the server(s). Most of the problems have been firewall
related, a topic only briefly discussed in the docs (nudge).
Some of the hosts can now interact with the linux samba shares; not all
though. I have run ip traces and have gotten to a point that is a
