RoR on Apache2
Hello,
I''ve been going though the "4 Days on Rails" tutorial at
http://rails.homelinux.org/ test-driving ruby on rails using the WEBrick
server without problems. I''m trying to move the app to be seen by
apache2, and am having some troubles. I''ve looked through many guides
online which all say pretty much the same thing, which, I think, I am
doing.

more PO files available at the TP
Hi,
At the translationproject there are four more languages available
than are included in the 1.42.10 tarball: Danish, Esperanto, Malay,
and Ukrainian. Please include these in your next release.
Attached patch adds the missing language codes to the po/LINGUAS
file. The easiest way to fetch the missing files (and the latest
updates) is to run:
rsync -Lrtvz

I deliberately didn't include some of these because the number of
translated messages were pathetic.

Translations for man pages
Hi,
as already discussed, we could provide translated man pages using po4a.
Please find two scripts attached. Both are intended to be run in the top
level directory.
The script create-man-pot.sh generates a pot template for all the
existing man pages and writes the result to template-man.pot. This is
the file which has to be re-generated from time to time and has to be
sent to the

Building from source on an ARM71 based router
No, sorry, it's actually failing on "configure" which this script calls. I
should have been more clear.
./configured is failing at step: *Checking uname sysname type*
It's obviously missing some app/header/library, but reading through all the
breakpoints listed in the error (re-pasted below) I can't make out from the
code what it's looking for, and the config.log

Partial Naming Madness
Hi, I am having the following issue with a partial. During initial page
load, I am doing a "render_partial_collect ''foo'', @foos", and all goes
well. Each foo partial makes use of a variable inside called ''foo'' (and
can get foo.id etc).
After all the partials are loaded, I need to :update a div corresponding
to one of the partials (ie re-load the

Unable to page.replace_html from rjs
I am having problems updating a div defined in a partial using both
Element.update and page.replace_html in an rjs. I can put a
link_to_remote in the partial using an :update, and the div updates
fine. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?
In the partial:
<div><div>

<div id="question_<%=question.id%>_error"></div>

An alternative behavior for symlink
Hello All,
I've been googling a lot but I can't find any suitable solution or
advice, so I'm asking you.
I'm trying do find a way to sync two distant folders containing
symlinks pointing to files outside the synced folders BUT with
different target names.
Here is an example:
./dir1: (source)
file --> ../data/file
./dir2: (destination)
file --> ../share/other_file

What happens after --max-delete is reached? Are updates processed?
Reading the manual page: "This tells rsync not to delete more than NUM
files or directories." Also, according to docs, rsync exits with code 25
if max-delete has been reached. Now, rsync starts with the deletes by
default, and then it does updates.
My question is, if --max-delete has been reached, does rsync still
proceed with the updates (not the deletes), or just exists

Require Information
Hi there!
I would like to ask kindly for some further information concerning Rsync
software.
What I am planning to do is to replicate data (database) at certain
intervals.
My first question is, can I do this with Rsync?
To be more specific I have a mysql database at a point and I want this
database to be replicated to a remote side at real-time.
In other words I need to setup a backup

Invoking rsync from a script with null parameters
I'm working on a bash backup script using rsync.
(kubuntu precise 12.04, rsync 3.0.9-1ubuntu1)
To avoid having a number of slightly different rsync commands, I would
like to use shell variables as part of the rsync command. I.e.:
DRYRUN="-n"
rsync "${DRYRUN}" more parameters ...
This does not work if DRYRUN="" - apparently because this command becomes

rsync 3.0.9 hangs on large file
Hi Folks,
Similar to an earlier thread, but slightly more ordinary. My old
rsync backup script, which worked fine under Ubuntu 12.04, hangs on
Ubuntu 12.10 (rsync 3.0.9) and a 250 MB file. Command line as follows:
rsync --itemize-changes --human-readable --progress --delete \
--delete-excluded --compress --bwlimit=18 --recursive --archive \
--partial --partial-dir=~/partial

delete files
Is there any way to specify a file to be deleted on the remote side
explicitly by name?
I would have thought that deleting the file locally, the rsyncing the
non-existing file with --del would have resulted in the remote file,
which does exist being deleted.
I have a general purpose script that my developers use to push updates
from a devel box to all production boxes. It's essentially

change UID+GID on target system?
Hello
I googled about my problem and found some hints but not a
complete solution.
Situation:
On laptop 1, I am user oub (uid=1000) and in the sudo list.
I connect an USB drive (jfs file system), its get automatically
mounted with the correct uid.
I copy files with rsync from laptop 1 to the USB.
( rsync -auvz --progress /home/oub/files /media/usb )
However:
On laptop 2, I am user oub
