wrong transfer of app packages using --backup
Dear All,
I have been seeing some strange behavior using rsync 3.1.1 on OSX with the 3 standard patches applied when using the --backup and --backup-Dir options.
This works as expected on 3.0.9, moving any files on dest that are not on source to the backup folder. If no changes then the backup folder is not even created.

[patch] fix for "refuse options" ignored due to popt
Hello,
I found the reason why "refuse options" is ignored on the server
side. When then 5th argument (int val) in the poptOption struct is
set to zero, the parsing function poptGetNextOpt() just continues
with the next arg, without returning. So check_refuse_options() is
simply not called in such cases.
The attached patch makes "refuse options" work with checksum and

[PATCH 1/2] virtio_net: fix error handling for mergeable buffers
Eric Dumazet noticed that if we encounter an error
when processing a mergeable buffer, we don't
dequeue all of the buffers from this packet,
the result is almost sure to be loss of networking.
Jason Wang noticed that we also leak a page and that we don't decrement
the rq buf count, so we won't repost buffers (a resource leak).
Fix both issues, and also make the logic a bit more

How about a --min-size option, next to --max-size
There's a rather old bug report in Debian's bug tracking system
(see http://bugs.debian.org/27126) about wanting to be able to specify
the maximum file size, as well as the minimum file size. Here's the
text:
Sometimes, it's useful to specify a file size range one is
interested in.
For example, I'd like to keep an up-to-date mirror of Debian, but I

[PATCH net-next 0/5] refine virtio-net XDP
Hi:
This series brings two optimizations for virtio-net XDP:
- avoid reset during XDP set
- turn off offloads on demand
Please review.
Thanks
Jason Wang (5):
virtio_ring: allow to store zero as the ctx
virtio-net: pack headroom into ctx for mergeable buffer
virtio-net: switch to use new ctx API for small buffer
virtio-net: do not reset during XDP set
virtio-net: switch off offloads

rsync 2.6.1 released (including security note)
Hopefully the email to the announce list will show up soon. Until then,
you can get a jump on the rest by checking out the rsync home page to
read the announcement:
http://rsync.samba.org/
It includes a security note about a fix that affects read/write daemons
that are not using chroot. If that includes you, you should look into
upgrading (or maybe enabling chroot on an older rsync).

Patch: Offline transfer mode
Hi All,
Here's an rsync patch which adds an --offline flag, letting you transfer
changed blocks via removable media, while still comparing checksums via
the net. I expect this could be very popular for the growing number of
people who want to do disk-based offsite backups, which is what I needed
it for.
It took me longer than I hoped, but still only several hours to work
this out -- it
